Yesterday as I trip, my foot hit a soda can on the floor that fell out of the bag we keep them in until they go into a larger bag to be taken to the recycling bin. I will not repeat what I said, but the pain soared through my foot that I was sure the can had cut my foot and was now bleeding. Yet the bite of the can was worse then the mark it left behind. No blood poured but the first reaction to pain was better left unsaid. No one is perfect and the truth of the matter is, if it was not for the correction of God I would not be typing about it this morning. See there is a point I want to make. If every born again believer is now anointed by the Holy Spirit why then do we yield to temptation at the moment of first reaction to anything. Is our humanity so out of control that even with bridle of the Holy Spirit on our tongue we break the yoke on our tongues to say the first words out of brain of thought. Is our humanity something we will wrestle against our entire life or is their escape to perfection. Actually perfection lives in our hearts when we invite Jesus in. Yet he only dining with our spirit. Our humanity is often frail and weak of who we are as believers as a child of the king.
Does God’s blood as a child of God flow in our belly? Yes, His word does, and yet the yielding for the moment of reaction one often would not know a person is a believer. Out of our mouth flows both living water and dead wood. Who we once were or the language we picked up in life that should never of be said. It like the little child saying fudge, but really meant something else in the adult world. It is time to wake up and realize even if it not a curse word, our lips do not always offer the sacrifice of praise or glorification of God. Our humanity flows in the since of not always saying Father forgive them as Christ did, but as the world speaks to express pain, joy, happiness and so forth.
If God’s word is so great in our life, why then is our voice silent to the lost and dying. If we are so afraid that our neighbor love ones are going to hell, why are we not pulling them up by the ear to make them listen and pulling them out the fires of hell. Then I began to realize Jesus walked the earth, and took time to go to a wedding party, passover feast in honor of God and his divine protection of the children of Israel in Egypt, Jesus fished and no doubt did carpentry work, and so forth. Jesus spent only three years of his adult life in public ministry. Jesus walked everywhere he went during that time teaching and preaching. His own village rejecting him with unbelief., yet he was God’s Son and equal to God. He was and is God because He is the word of God. He is the second person of the Trinity. He called the passover feast he was at last days, yet it still early in ministry and yet he would die at the time of the passover feast the third year of his ministry. The answer is simple non of us is God but Jesus and so our humanity shines through even in the middle of preaching about love, gentleness and kindness, with the tripping over a can. The love of cooking a meal for someone, is only reminder of God’s grace and compassion for us, yet the belly of hunger is always seeking God and his Word so it can flow with the message of God. If our humanity reigns in our life and God does not; our life is unbridle by what we say or speak. Yet by the power of the Holy Spirit our words speak about who God is.
Coal fields see much tragedy but at the same time out flows the faith of the coal miner church of hope, yet in the mist of the storm of flooding, cave ins and other tragedy the human reaction comes through. With this knowledge comes the reality that deep faith is in God, and our humanity and reaction of life, is not always going to be pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit checks our mouth as if we are a horse, looking at our teeth to see if they are straight. The Holy Spirit checking our hearts and reminding us of who He is and we are in Christ. Reminding us of the purity that He requires of us to live even within us. Our hearts are to be a holy Temple to the Lord. Then Lord says I am a guest in your house, but you gave me reign. His correction swift to our hearts reminding us what should flow from our lips. Our humanity screams out why Lord, why the pain, why the anger why not the free expression without correction. It is only because it hurts our testimony every time we show our humanity. The ugliness of our heats, soul and mind sometime wanting to flow without the control of our purity of our hearts, mind and soul that is cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
If we be so grafted into the family of God upon salvation the sap of the tree flows in our veins calling us his child, and we live to please God, only to slip back into our humanity for a moment. The continual wheel of temptation only reminds of our true nature and our humanity. Yet we are a new creation in Christ Jesus and the old is passed away all things become new. Then I realize in my transgression God begins to pour his word through those veins, and out of belly flows the Holy Spirit flows. Without His correction the word can not flow. Without his reminder of who we are as his child, we would never fight to share his word with others in our daily life or care about what we say. No repentance of sorrow over what we say or do would never come. If we want the power of God to flow in us we must allow his correction to come.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for reminder of how you desire to flow through our soul, heart, mind and speech. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
