Are You Living In Hell By Your Choosing

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Deuteronomy 32:15-27 KJV
(15) But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
(16) They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
(17) They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
(18) Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
(19) And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
(20) And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
(21) They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
(22) For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
(23) I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
(24) They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
(25) The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
(26) I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
(27) Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

Godís chosen children are said to be Israel. Yet the cost of not following God will cause torment upon his people. Yet the non-Israelite might flourish in the land without a relationship with God. Two groups of people one of Godís calling and one not. Gentiles were born unto the man who had Godís promise yet the man rejected his own offspring because of the seed of promise. Isaac and Ishmael came from Abraham forming two different tribes. One Son was born of promise and one born out of sin.

Godís people were blessed with a curse upon them if they turned away from God. God is a jealous God and if so jealous then the consequence on man for making him jealous will come. The rejection of God from as early as the garden caused the wrath of God to be displayed by kicking of Adam and Eve from the garden. Israel rejected God and found themselves in the wilderness, learning the blessings and the cost of rejecting God.

The plagues of this world come forth on those who reject God and his ways. Israel struggled with God being their leader. In the desert they thirst for water, and food for their table. Only to find deliverance when they turned to God. Okay so if I turn to God provision will be meet. It not quit that simple. Thought it sounds good on paper, what God does is test and build his people up in faith first. Life still going to cast you problems like the children in the wilderness, yet they received the blessings with faith in due season/time. Okay you did everything spiritually by the book and sought God and the blessings of God seemed not to flow. Did you do it because of what you were said to receive, or because you truly sought God not for the benefits of what God can and will provide. Ouch a reality check. Anything good is often sought for what can be gained. Have a give way like a vacation, a candy bar, and buy one get one free sale and I guarantee with a little advertising someone will show up to see if it is really free. God promises salvation, but does not promise golden road in life to all that show up at the church door.

Lip service might be a positive if it trains you to seek God, but it has no value as long as one continues in sin. God requires his people to turn to him and to follow Him. God requires us to repent and truly seek Him and His ways. Sitting on my couch typing I wonder if anyone truly does this well. If Godís word says is that God desires to bless, but he does not always completely remove the burdens in life. Working at a job, will pay bills, but it does not always cover everything needed to survive. Godís blessings comes to his children. Godís provision coming by another avenue, not humanly meet by your ability.

One wants the blessings of God without the worship of God. One has to come to the terms that God is going to give the faith to worship Him. The first step maybe lip service to God but it will not be the last step. The first step is believing God has an eternal purpose for your life. Second step is receiving the free gift of salvation. The third step comes with daily deciding to follow His ways. Eternity comes for children of disobedience and belief. Eternity comes to children of faith and obedience. Ask the devil the cost of disobedience and he should tell you his home in a fiery pit and God allows him to release his destructive nature on the world because of disobedience. The fires of hell are put out with faith and obedience to Godís way.

Our nation has had to deal with making laws that are not always godly in nature. By making these laws it only testifies we are not God and will not judge man for certain sins against God. When one allows God to teach the world about who He is, then one gives God the responsibility of proving to each individual of who He is. Israel fought against God in the wilderness only to kneel when the need of deliverance came. Do we still bow before the Lord when we face the wrath of mankind. Jesus died at the wrath of man. Christ rose in victory at the power of Godís Spirit that was His own power. If one wants true salvation one has to learn to die to self. Dying to self ability to provide and allowing Godís provision in oneís life. It does not mean not work, but it means allowing God to remove the headaches in life either through your own physical strength or else where. No job is secure in life. No matter how good your work, it not secure. People loose jobs because of business closing, fired for no reason, and injury on the job. Yet if one door is shut another opens. Yet for a time you may feel you were cast into hell.

Did the story of hell come about from the scorching heat in the desert, or was the desert an example of what would come to children who rejected God after each deliverance. It was after the final judgment of not being able to go into the promise land that Israel seen the need of God. Does it take us to loose the promise to understand the need of God. Earthly promises are only temporal and we loose them by our own rejection.

If we want change in this world, faith must begin with believer and reliance on God alone, so when things do happen those not saved, will see the power of God and desire the relationship with Him through Christ Jesus. People will see how God changes your life if you will allow Him.

Dear Heavenly Father the price of disobedience is a life that ends in fire, and life with obedience comes hopes of eternity, though works has no bearing on salvation, our works speaks who we are. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
