Every Sundy A Psalms: Planted In The Lord

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Psalms 92:1-15 KJV
(1) A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
(2) To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
(3) Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
(4) For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
(5) O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
(6) A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
(7) When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
(8) But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
(9) For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
(10) But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
(11) Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
(12) The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
(13) Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
(14) They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
(15) To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

The religious world verses society without religion. The need for God and the lack of God seems to be an issue through out the ages. Though the Psalms is a song for the Sabbath, I cannot help but think on the pros and cons of knowing God. In the church world one grows up learning to praise God, to pray daily at the minimum in vain repetition and at the maximum from the heart and mind. The unicorn allowed both the religious law and the governmental law to rise in Israel. Two laws of government that often form in opposition are religious and manís law. King David would find himself in two worlds. One that he desired to be in the temple day and night and to praise the Lord and the other would be to sin like the devil.

David lived in two worlds. In truth the desire to praise God weigh great on his mind especially with the enemy subdued. The desire to feel Godís anointing in oneís life is a godly desire To desire. Godís anointing was desire by David instead of the world. David desired to know God and to be lead by God was great, despite the worldly desires and sin. He witnessed two laws that had formed in the land of Israel.

Each and everyone of us has to come to terms sooner or later whoís laws do you want to govern yourself with and your conduct; the law of man or the law of God. The blessings of God are within the sanctuary of worshipping God. The protection of God or the protection of a religious society is another issue. That is a better question. Yet those who believe in God and God alone, know the answer, and yet the clique of religious society often forms a brotherhood and sisterhood all of its own. Those cliques whether of God or not has to do with faith and vain repetition of faith. The true worshipper worships in spirit and in truth. A true worshipper walking in the house of the Lord knows the difference. Desiring the relationship with God on individual plain and not the brotherhood of religiosity. Yet there is plenty of religiosity to go around. If you ask God to show and teach you the difference, and to seek others that desire the same as you, then God going to open a new door to you. Desire to know God and the blessings of God will flow from him but not religiosity, or legal law. The anointing of God comes from God and not man. Man institutionalizes even the anointing of God, not realizing they cannot control what God wants to do in his childrenís lives.

Dear Heavenly Father move the mountains in your childrenís lives so they will worship only you. That they will know the difference in true worship by your spirit and not vain repetition of youth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
