|Time Of Christ: No One Can Out Give God
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris
If the business world lended completely by Jesusí advice would they have any money. It not unusual in some place to give someone a few cents at the cash register, or vending machine, but sometimes people do not even give a dime, because the world is becoming a fast world of plastic and written checks and change is becoming more obsolete. People in truth with this new chip card might decide that checks are much easier, but stores will tell you plastic is sometime quicker. with the techno age checks are given back to the consumer in some places as the receipt. No more lending of a dime or penny will occur and exactness at the cash register should change except for the occasional computer error that will cost millions when it occurs. If cash is done away the giving to the guy on the city streets will become obsolete. The giving to the homeless of the change in the pocket will come to not. These people rely sometimes on that few cents someone will give them to buy hopefully something more needed then alcohol at the store.
The neighbor coming by to borrow a few nickels will not be happening, instead they be calling and say can you put a few dollars in an account if they have one or can you go to the store and pick up what I need because I am three dollars short. The tools or other items borrowed will be bartered to get milk for a baby, hoping someone else has the ability to give a few dollars on a card.
There is a point to my madness this morning. The business world might give millions and billions of dollars away yearly, but what those figures do not tell is what the vast majority gives that is never recorded. I will be first to say I do not lend to everyone that ask. Yet Jesus said to do so and reward will be great. This type of giving only works out in heavens reward seldom does it work out on pen and paper. Yet those who give know that whether it comes back or not God does turn these things back into a blessing even if it is in heaven.
Mercy is one of those thing few really understand but know the value of it. If I lumped all my mistakes in a pile and then said Lord be merciful and put all my good deeds in another, the mistakes would probably outweigh the good. The point being God mercy is greater then all our evil; and all our good works could never repay our evil.. No one ever can pay a person back for all the times someone bails them out. Yet friends and neighbors giving in love and charity goes a long way. How you give can effect whether someone will help you or not. Yet giving has a reward of its own in heaven, even when you receive little back in this life time. God gives mercy to you as you show mercy to others. God mercy will always out trump your mercy and grace. No one can buy mercy either. No one can buy good works to get into heaven. Salvation is unplayable debit to God. Mercy is unplayable debt to God and good works are a demonstrate of our love for God, but even heathens do good works. Beware of lending not for reward but because of your generous heart to give. Give because you love too. Give not to receive even the rewards in heaven, yet the reward is great.
Dear Heavenly Father teach us to give out of love and not out of what we can gain. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
