Evil With Or Without

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Mark 7:1-23 KJV
1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Things taught by tradition or things that enter that defile a man. Evil within and without, and yet it enters into the desire of man heart. To break a law or to obey the lust of the flesh, the outward show of the inward and trueness of man. If you wash a pot on the outside but not the inside is the pot clean? If you wash by tradition the things outside of man does it make him clean. The fact is evil must enter into man and not evil born within the heart. Conception of evil/sin begins when it is defiled from the outside only, or at the heart? Walk out side after testing your clothes for bacteria, and then test it after coming through the door of the same house. What did you carry in and what can you purge out by a simple cleaning. If the bacteria that enters from outside into the body, we do not purge the enter part, but our body does and it comes out the bile and other places in the body meant to remove excess that starts from outside and enters in.

If the word adultery was never mention would men still commit adultery, or sensual sins that are consider sinful by the Mosaic law? Which laws broken in defiance to it, cause harm to another being or causes dirt to rest on their outer garment. Laws against God tarnish the relationship we have with God. Adultery/idolatry is sinful, it is the worship or obedience to another god other then God/Jehovah or the Great I Am. Now when first sin happened, it was in obedience to Eve and the serpent. The second sin came from God warning and protection offered to Cain if obeyed but Cain still killed his brother. Man in this life will struggle with the sin that effects the outer man and the sin that effects their relationship with God that comes from only the enter being. Woman smacks a man that to close, is it sin or defense of sexual touch. If a man is smacked did he learn he sin against the woman or did it only make him want more. This is x rated apparently. Yet it is a subject needing to be talked about. It matters not if rules are in place, it depends on it the other person is willing to accept the assault as a flirt, or say it is assault. Man does not accept God's ways easily always. If so the world is a law unto itself.

The issue is not if sexual things desired by both can it still be sin, how does it effect others and most would say who cares, it my life or the other persons choice. Then it more of what does God define as sin. If you commit adultery against God and follow another it is sin, it does anger and sadden God. Yet you choose to worship outside of faith for what reason most would call it idolatry and not adultery, if Jesus is the bridegroom then adultery is carried out by what means if one bows to another. God is calling his church to be holy unto him, unto his Son, and the Holy Spirit. To follow them alone.

Is our sin against man sin against God too. Well it can be, if we claim to be God's child and continue to live as one is not the bride of Christ. Living in gossip, lust of the flesh and so forth. Things given to the whims of the flesh and not the the things of God, for example benelovent work for those in need, elderly, and care of others. Standard is set. The things of caring for special religious items are only example how we should care for our neighbor. The things of God are more then utensils, but the human that is need of God and/or the human already a child of God. Our desire to be inline with God's word for his flock and not inline of those things in God's word that is of human origin. Sin is talked and demonstrated in scripture that is no lie, but God desires us to know there is a difference in following his ways. We must be transformed first by receiving Christ who died for our sins and rose again bring us new life in abundance by understanding we are to follow his ways and will for our life upon belief.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to understand to allows the ways of devil in or be produced within ourselves is sin against God. If we are only then clean in the appearance of lip service of faith and/or legalism of faith, without allowing your word to transform, we are living for the enemy and not you. Lord transform us to the renewing of our minds and heart. Help to not act on our own desires but the desires that are of you, to care for one another and not harm others. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 12:1-2 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Colossians 2:6-23 KJV
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
