1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.
11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.
13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;
17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. It always surprises me of how people would rather keep a person down in the ditch of life rather then help them up. Rather see them flounder as a fish out of water on the shore trying to reach water again. It is those that seek harm instead of to aid a person that is struggling in life that there spirit is in trouble. Those desiring to help has a far greater reward. Jesus seen a man with a withered/damaged in some way, hand that was shrunk back because of a lack of ability to use it. He told the man to stand. The Pharisees watched to see what Jesus would do and Jesus told him to stretch it out and his whole hand was restored, The damage was repaired. Pharisees went with the Herodians to plot against Jesus. The Herodians were a religious sect of Jews that were inline more with Herod doctrine of law. Jesus is followed by the crowd all over the place, to even to a point that he climbed into a small ship and went away from the shore, because people just wanted to touch Jesus because of all kinds of diseases and so forth. Many people were healed and demons were cast out crying to Jesus that he was the "Son of God" and he would forbid them to speak. Then he climbs a mountain and calls the disciples up and ordains them for ministry including Judas Iscariot who would betray him, and he ordain them to heal the sick and cast out devils,
God had called the Pharisees and religious leaders for the work before Christ ministry, God called even Judas to be a participator in the art of healing and preaching the word of God. Yet Jesus is standing before the crowd doing miracles, and all these ministers are watching, some desiring to follow like the twelve and others seeking how to destory instead of standing with Jesus and seeing people like the man with the wither hand delivered. If we think on it Judas would soon learn why the Priest sought Jesus life, not because of miracle but the things Jesus did was taking money out of their pockets. Judas would begin to seek a way to betray Jesus when the woman anointed Jesus with a expensive perfume that could of been sold and money given to the poor or put in the money bag of the disciples of Christ ministry. Judas would become like the religious leaders of Christ day.
When people want to harm good doers it always because of money, or fame. It had to do with wealth and the ways of the devil, it never about God. Jesus seen a repair job that needed doing and he healed the man with the wither hand. This one act of healing cause the crowd to gather and swarm about him to the point he could not eat even a piece of bread. It was to much confusion, so his disciples took Jesus away from the crowd. It not that Jesus could not handle the crowd. It was men of God looking after the physical needs of Jesus, the human body had need, the spiritual body did not. Jesus could stand and minister for long periods without worry.
Jesus physical body has to be cared for. Even we are spiritual equipped to minister for a long time, but our body still needs to be cared for,. We also must remember that in will doing we need not to grow weary, but always be on guard for men and women like the pharisees and potential Judas(betrayer of faith). We might know who they are, but we might not be able to change their attitude or mind about the purpose of ministry to aid the people and not their wallets. The question is are you following because you want money from ministry or because you want to help others and to teach them about love of God, his mercy and grace, proven throught he gift of his Son. To be a worker in the kingdom of God that is eternal, one must be willing to follow and obey and not to seek for oneself beyond the normal needs of life. It doesn't mean you can not be rich, because money does a lot of good in this world, but it the way it is used, and it should only come by hard worked and used for caring for others.
When we pray for someone we do not know if God will heal at the very moment of our prayer, or what God's doing in this person life or even ours, but we know God's power to heal through Jesus name is real, but it does not mean healing occurs every moment in the way we can physically see. Somethings we have to trust for God to do in his time table not our own. It hard to understand the healing some need is deeper then the physical realm and it is the spiritual and emotional realm. Point is people will seek money over God sometimes, and even seek to save their ownself from loss of income if someone is taking their job from them.
Jesus purpose was not to put the Pharisees out of business, but to come and saved those that were lost, the temple had been restore but the gentiles were still in the outer court. Gentiles were still outcast of Israel. Jesus came to seek those that needed saving, but in doing so, it cause the Pharisees anger because it also took Israelites out of the temple to see such a sight in the wilderness, by the sea, th desert, small villages and in the cities streets. It was effecting the work of the temple. Yet Jesus purpose to draw people to himself and to God the Father and Holy Spirit through the teaching of the word of God and teaching who he was to those able to see.
Decide what your purpose in ministry is to help others, or to do good for your desire for money. If it money you will fail, and it not a good investiment. The ministry for wealth with crumble and God's people will arise. If it for the work of God, His ministry which is everlasting. Preparing to follow Christ going without one cent but trusting God to provide is hard step for many of us, but God provides when we trust in him. Jesus healing the man with the wither hand enabled the man in what ever work he found himself capable of doing. Jesus not just aiding in a basic need of this man but healing for the ability to aid himself and others with his healed hand.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to trust in your deliverance and ability to provide for the needs of your people and your workers. You even gave Jesus people that cared about his physical needs. Lord we trust you to provide for the physical well being. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
