God Does Set Boundaries In Your Life

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Judges 1:19 KJV
(19) And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

The Sioux Tribe in North Dakota once lived with boundaries of who they could defeat. The arms of the man being far stronger by their weaponry. Even though Sioux were known to be friendly, they were placed on reservations. This past few years industry of a pipeline threaten Sioux land in North Dakota. Only for our nation to back the tribe against the pipeline going through their land. The Indian fight did not begin with government backing. Sioux had to stand up against those wanting to go through tribal lands. One small victory compare to the defeat of not being able to go against big man’s guns before, now going up against big man’s guns.

Knowing our limitation has never mean much to God. God has the power to over come the enemy. This verse in Judges seems so out of touch with the power of God one has to stop and think, why is Israel backing off from this tribe with iron weapons. God set boundatires for Israel not to cross, it appears to be because of iron weapons, but it more then that, God is putting a barrier between them and technology of their world, not to go against it. A time would come when Israel to defeat a land with technology they did not possess but it would not be with this great war in Judges chapter one.

If I believe God can defeat anything then I must accept if God draws a line that I can not win it for a reason. If for a reason will a day come of defeating. We know that peace was made between some tribes surrounding Israel land. It always good to have peaceful neighbors. May be God was teaching some defeat was not defeat if peace could be maintained without war.

Most tribes Israel defeat was against their God, and peace with them. War was necessary to keep their land. Land given to them by God long before other tribes move upon it in their absence. God’s boundaries for the promise land is much like his boundaries for the holy city In revelations. God’s boundaries for what He establishes will not allow us to go against what is outside it. The weapons of our enemy being stronger is not an issue. David had a sling shot and went against Goliath with great weaponry. We can not look at the technology of man for a reason to quit, but perhaps a reason God has drawn a line not to cross.

If God establishes us, then we must except that God is doing certain things for a purpose. If certain things for a purpose and not allowing a line to be cross, it for His will too. The line is not defeat. The line is for a purpose.

Let us stand our ground in the world we live in that God has set these boundaries to bring peace to the people around us. Let us accept these boundaries as fruitfully done by the Almighty God. For when we serve our God we know that we have the power ot overcome.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for boundaries set by you, that not all victory is winning but at times it can be defeat. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Revelation 21:15-25 KJV
(15) And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
(16) And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
(17) And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
(18) And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
(19) And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
(20) The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
(21) And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
(22) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
(23) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
(24) And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
(25) And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
