Equaility of Friendship With God

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 15:1-27 KJV
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Can we be a friend of God and be equal in our relationship to him. I think we have to go back to the garden, where Adam and Eve seem to have a separate relationship from their relationship with God. There relationship such that their decision of disobedience was almost a group decision in first action, except Eve had to look for Adam to give him the fruit. Relationships different but equal to God's relationship. We talk about relationship of Husband and wife being equal, and not in ever situation is the friendship equal across the board. Inability playing a role verses ability. Wife maybe strong at doing some things that the husband may not have an aptitude for. it okay because I guarantee the man will have aptitude for something his wife does not. It might not be seeable until later in the relationship. My husband makes better eggs then I do, though I capable of making eggs and even omeletes. His turns out always better, not because I do something different, he seldom breaks a yoke on sunny side down egg and the omelete always holds together. It is the difference in style of cooking. Both are always well done.

Now with our relationship with God, we know God's way is always better, yet in our relationship with God, he does allow us to try and do it our own way, when we can not see his way clearly. For example one might like to think if God did not want Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil why did he not just put a fence around it or a hyper space field of some sort? Better be careful, because without the ability to sin, or the prevention of sin, man never learns to obey God.

If a parent never allows their children to stumble then they never learn to walk without falling down. A skinned knee usually is not a lethal death sentence, it can be if infections sets up. Yet in general the skinned knee will heal itself. If you never play a game you can never learn rules of a game to play it. Yet once one learns to understand the rules one can learn how to win it, but if one never loose one never learns to really win.

Now with God, he is always the winner, just the superior in a field of work will always top the under achiever but might strength the under achiever to win. Are we under achievers to God, no we design to sit in the heavenly places with God, but we must learn obedience first. It like the royal crown of England denounced Princes Diana title when she divorced Prince Charles. Her only royal title would be dutchess. There is a point I assure you. Our royalty is re established by who God. Prince William promised his mother she would regain her title but it never happened. God has promised and has give his people the royal title back with belief in Jesus. Though he be Lord, and we be servants, he is still chief among the people. God's equality to Jesus is different then our relationship and inequality to God, because we have no ability to be equal to God, yet we share the inheritance of Jesus, because of his humanity.

My cat has access to everything in the house, he is heir to my house along with me, and my husband is king of his palace. Okay I let him think it for the moment. Cat sleep beside my husband, my cat is feed by my husband, and cat is clean up after by my husband. The cat definitely belongs to my husband. Yet he shares my husband with me. Cat lays between us at night to divide my husband and I. The cat acts like a bridge between us. Then he jumps down and there no longer a separation between us, but the blanket. The comforter. There is a bridge called Jesus between us and God, and then there is another bridge/comforter called the Holy Spirit. He makes intercession for us when we do not know how to pray. Now I divided by my husband by blanket and a cat. Between us and God is Jesus and the Holy Spirit. One day we will before the Heavenly Father, with the intercession of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, when we do not know how to speak, God will provide what we need.

Now chapter John 15 talks about the vine that the father is the vine and we are the branches. We are the intercessor for the fruit we produce, until the fruit falls off and dies to produce a vine, off the original vine. The word of God remains from the fruit that rots off, but God's word spring forth new life in the new life, if it not taken away by animals, and other things of this world. Now if the new vine is graphed into the old vine, it is a branch of the original vine. It will produce fruit. The fruit as to be removed from our branch to be graphed into the orignal vine to produce life. We can only be a bridge for a time, but our bridge must go away. Christ is the only true bridge to the Father. The main root of the vine and the gardner of the vine. The one that cause old branches to be shed from the vine that does not produce and the root of the vine that produce the fruit to finally leave the branch its on to be graphed as a new branch into the vine.

How does God provide for us who he longs to call friends, he gives us rules to rules or commands to follow. These commands are without a choice in the matter. Yet we may feel enslaved to the rules it is for our protection from God. God is holy, and his children must be holy too. We learn holiness from who God the Father. We learn how to be royalty in his kingdom through obedience to his Son(word of God, as well as his protection on the cross) and the Holy Spirit who warns us, comforts us in our failings, and enables us to obey God. The Holy Spirit reminding us we are covered by Christ blood and sacrifice on the cross for our sins.

Last we hear Christ warnings in this passage before the cross. Telling us that the servant is not less then their master, but that we both will be persecuted. He not asking anyone to take on the persecution of this world without knowing he did so first, That he was willing ot take on his cross and not just ask us to die for him. He was willing to equality walk in our shoes to obey God and die for disobedience to the laws that were against God the Father. Christ taking on the equality of our human suffering for sin of this world and obedience to God the Father.

This is a long devotion today, but it brings out a point our equality with God comes with our equality in the suffering for Christ and with Christ. That the world does not obey God, or care about the things of God. Only believers worship God and honor God. Non believer sometimes mock in worship, and even play as if they are believers, but God sees the inner man. God sees all that is happening.

God in his wisdom gives us the heritage of a new heaven and a new earth. A new Jerusalem coming down who maker and creator is God. Christ speaking truth of what will be. He promises a comforter of truth that will testify of Jesus because we know Jesus. Testify of God the Father as well. The testimony of all three testifying of each other would be more exact.

We will never be Lord, or King but we part of the royal throne of God as prince and princess of God the Father. Our place of royalty and title to the throne in place as children of God. Yet Christ is the first of his children and the perfect word of God and Lamb of God.

Are you royalty with equality in regards to willing to pay the price for one's own faith. Willing to follow God in truth and righteousness and receive Christ and the Holy Spirit of promise by faith?Today is your day decide are you a friend of God, who are you willing to obey his rules for holy living with God and man.

Many of us may never face the persecution of Jesus as far as a cross, but we may face persecution when we choose God's way and not the way of the world. Can you be willing to be part of the royalty without being the king? Two heads with different ideas never win a fight, it just a continual fight. One head, one throne, one God, and one set of rules. Are you God's friend?

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for allowing us to become part of the royal family, through faith, not as servants but as friends to God. Our obedience being because we understand your way is best. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 8:26-34 KJV
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Ephesians 1:3-15 KJV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
