Who Is Man That God Is Mindful Of Him
2/27/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 7:1-21 KJV
1 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?
2 As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
3 So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.
4 When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day.
5 My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome.
6 My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.
7 O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good.
8 The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not.
9 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more.
10 He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.
11 Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
12 Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou settest a watch over me?
13 When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;
14 Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:
15 So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life.
16 I loathe it; I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity.
17 What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?
18 And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?
19 How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?
20 I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
21 And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

Who is man that God is mindful of his creation of man? Why would God care about man when cast him away out of the garden of Eden? Who is man, that God still seems to allow man to suffer? Who is God that he care about man's life at all? Job (name of a man pronounced with a long O) is at a point of not caring about life, but only desiring to experience death. Job is at a point of wondering why God was torturing him. His believe in God was such of one that believed, but lack not humbleness before God, but self righteous attitude he did nothing wrong to deserve how he was treated. He did not understand why he was suffering bcause he believe in God. Who was this God to allow him to suffer or even care for him, after all he had enjoy the good life until now. His test of faithfulness was so great, he knew God cared and understood that part, but his reflection is on his own misery. He believe God had marked him and was against him, to the point he was a burden to himself. He thought God had not forgiven him perhaps for something, so he mourn and put on sackcloth and ashes in signs of repentance and no change to his condition occured.

In the first chapter of Job, we discover that Satan made a bet with God that Job only reverence God in his luxury because he had been greatly blessed by God. Satan said if you remove it all he will not fear you. God allowed Satan to test Job. Wonder if Job been in on that meeting what he would of said to God and Satan. Job was effected by the war between God and Satan that was placed upon his shoulders, because of his righteousness and faith in God. God allowed Satan to test Job prove his faithful to Him despite the things Satan did to him. Job still had to come to terms with his righteousness did not save him, it was the power of God. The fear of God is understanding the need of God to save you. The need of God's mercy and grace in one's life. Job was spared but his children were not. Why was his children not protected by God. Job did the sacrifice for his sons and daughters whether they sinned or not. Though Job taught faith, his children were not in fear of God themselves. Understand Job children were grown with spouses of their own, they did not take up the duty of faith in God.

The protection of God has to do with our personal belief in God. God could of killed Adam and Eve in the garden or outside the garden instead he began to teach them outside the garden for their children would fear him. God rejected Cain but he put his protective mark on Cain because of belief. Cain only one I can really say was in direct disobedience to God and had protected on earth from others, yet he was not protected from the wrath of God.

The ideal of man that we do not deserve hardship, suffering and pain, is the same ideology that says because of faith I will not be sick. Theology of those that claim wellness and wealth because of their righteousness is need of understand that God can remove wellness and finances for the same reason he allowed you to have it. Our first rational understanding of how God cares for you, is to understand that no matter where you are in life, free from trouble and deep in trouble, your faith is essential for God's protection on this earth. Second to know God can allow your trouble to teach one reverence of his authority. Job suffering did not force him out of his home or remove his friends from him. God blessed Job because Job still honor God despite his lack of fear of God in his attitude and question of God. This lack of fear humbled Job when he realize God's vast power and his loving nature seen in the last four chapters of Job. Satan even used Job's wife and three friends against him and it test his faith in God.

As a child of God that believes, and who does not deny him during trial and tribulation will have God's protection. The devil might be given permission to tempt us, but God's ability to help us and enable us to be overcomers is greater. If we are God's children, then we must realize his love for us is great. Sometimes we need a little help knowing the difference between God's allowing one to be tempted and God's wrath. God punishment is always a form of correction, but his correction is not without blessings to those children that obey him. God would give Job a new family and wealth once more. God desires to bless us because we are his creation.

Dear Heavenly Father, may your grace be a reminder of your love, and your correction be a reminder to fear you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

Phillipians 4:12 KJV I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
