Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Revelation 3:7-13 KJV
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Holy is God who is also true and he that hath the key of David. Two people in the first verse not counting the minister/angel of the church of Philadelpia. He that has Jesus, who is God and Jesus himself. Talking about the holiness of God, God the only one called holy and author and speaker of truth. To separate and to break down the first verse of the passage in Revelation is probably quite simple to some but to others it can be difficult, because you got to break it down by the fact the angel is writting, about God the Father and the Son, but also the Trinity. To say God is Holy it must be implied to all three parts of the Godhead. God is going to close the door of Jesus one day. Jesus is the key to open the door but he is also the door God is going to shut and no man can open or close this door himself. God is speaking in verse eight saying I set a door no man can shut, the fact that the church has no physical strength, but it is church that has kept his word and did not deny God or Jesus. Verse 9 the fact is the denial of who one believes in his crucial here. To have faith we can not go around denying, we need to be like Daniel and stand against those that deny Christ, but the church of Satan, who claim to be Jews but are not. They will come and bow to the feet of Jesus. Let stop, there for a moment. What does the term Jew mean besides children of Israel/Abraham. You can be of Jewish faith and not even be blood of the Jewish faith, yet you can be blood of the Jewish faith and not believe. The key ingredient is faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob make you a Jew by faith, yet it does not make you Jewish in another since if you are Christian, because Jews deny Jesus being the Messiah. The Jew that deny not only Jesus being the Messiah but he going to deny he came in the flesh and claim to worship Jehovah(God) of the Jewish people. These people are going to bow to the foot of Jesus, not by human force, but the power of God.

Satan himself knows that Jesus died on the cross for mankind. His deception is to make people believe Jesus is not to be the Messiah. The church of Satan is those that follow in the ideology there is a God but lack idea there is a Savior or that they even need a Savior. The hour of temptation, the final temptation upon the earth, when it comes eveyone will have to deal with this temptation, it will test the world. Yet despite the temptatin there is hope. Precious hope that if we are faithful He will keep us from temptation that will test the world. Do not allow anyone to take your crown/salvation. Guard your spiritual faith.

If we take the first four verse and look at the cross we see Jesus dealing with those that act like Jews/Christians but have no faith in God and are money hungry and safety concious religious leaders. If we look at little closer the hour of temptation for Jesus was not to endure the cross before him to understake for you and I. The hope was with dealing with the hour of tempation, God enabled him to endure the cross and to rise again. Temptation upon the world would of been much like Judas, and the crowd who chanted crucify, the soldiers that nailed Jesus, and even Pilate. The testimony of the cross in all four verses in code. Jesus is the one that will bring the church of Satan to worship at his Father's feet. There was only one lost that is the son of perdition. The persecuted church took up their cross to follow Jesus, The persecuted church paid the price with their life, only to have some turn to Christ because the manner in which they seen the mayrters die.

Many will say I got strong enough faith to endure whatever comes, but it not how much faith we have but the one that holds our faith, to keep our feet from slipping. We need to understand the power of Jesus, that upon confession of faith in Christ, we no longer have to worry about unbelief, the sin of unbelief, the sin of blasyphme. That is strong words, but it is encouragement to the believer, even in their failings as humans their faith in God will not fail. Jesus will keep us from the hour of temptation that comes to the whole world. The final hour of our faith in God. No one can steal your crown of life. The crown you lay down at Christ feet one day. Something else to remember there is more hope and blessings.

The blessings of knowing God will establish your faith and strengthen you and you will be pillar in his temple. If any remembers when I taught of I Chronicles and Solomon Temple was built there were two pillars, he that strength and he that establish, called Jachin and Boaz. (2 Chronicle 3:17 need to define in the Hebrew to english translation the names if you want to look it up.) God will establish you in faith and strengthen your faith. Sometimes the prayer of strength is not physical, though we might need physical strength too, it is spiritual strength we need to desire along with faith.

The point being we try so hard to control our own faith, not realizing all we need to do is rest in God to establish our faith and belief in Christ, by the study of his word and allow the word to strength our faith. We can not strength our faith without God moving in our life. How he moves might be in many different ways. It may be answers to prayer, the answer to need, healing or just that pick me up boutique that is really a bunch of friends expression of love with a helping hand.

What are we but Christians in need of our Shepherd Jesus Christ, to establish and strengthen our faith. No one can build you better then Jesus in this area of your life. The cross alone is the begining block of faith for it is the remission of sins the blood covering that begins our hope of eternal life in Christ alone the hope of our eternity that God has provided for us. This is the door that opens that one day will be shut to mankind like in the days of Noah and the flood. One day it be to late to receive Christ as Lord, and no more hope or chances given to the lost. Whether on one's death bed, or in Christ return, the hope taken with the last breath of the unbeliever. You wait til it is to late you will miss the time of Christ strengthen and establishing your faith in miraclous miracles of faith with doors opening and shutting as you journey with Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, your Son paid the price for our sin and went through his hour of temptation, to have the cup removed, to only face the cup of the cross the revenge of the world upon his shoulders and still say Father forgive them. Lord thank you for your forgiveness for sin, enable us and strengthen us as we lay our sins at the cross this hour. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

1 John 5:4-5 KJV
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
