Fellowship In Christ
2/11/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

1 John 1:1-10 KJV
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John rights as one who had seen the Lord Jesus. John had handled and touched the Word of Life. In close relationship you might hug a person, shake a person hands, a jab in fun, even given a pat on the back of a job well done. The disciples were so close to Jesus, that the word that brings forth life came forth from Jesus and was carried by the disciples bringing life to others. Life that was with the Father, was the word of Life, in word format as well as being format in heaven and came in present of a baby to all mankind name Jesus, emmanuel God's with us.

John is inviting the church to spiritual fellowship, Fellowship with God the Father and the Son. Something that can not be explained in words. It is spiritual fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ as well as with God the Father when one receives Christ as Lord. When one receives Christ their joy is complete. It is a completeness you never forget the minute you receive Christ as Lord and Savior. There is eternal fellowship with God the Father and Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit. When there is no fellowship there is no light of Christ present for there is no darkness in God. God does not sin the darkness is caused by our sin the light comes through Christ Jesus. Jesus is the light of the world, the hope sent to the world and manifested in the flesh as the only begotten Son of God who name is Jesus.

If we say we do not sin, we do not find fault within ourselves, then we are deceived and Christ is not in us. Yet if we confess our sins, God is just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us through the blood of Jesus from our unrighteousness. What is unrighteousness, but failure to beleive in God. Righteousness is faith in God. Our righteousness coming not by works but by belief. John declares in his first letter to the church the power of Jesus cleansing through His blood upon belief in Jesus and God the Father.

To receive it takes faith to confess sin is to just to admit you are a sinner, in the need of God's grace and mercy in our life. It simple as that to become a born again Christian. Faith and confession of sin. John was a close disciple of Jesus and Jesus taught repentance and belief. Where is our faith, were is our repentance. When you protected by Christ blood because sin, then you covered and can not sin because of unbelief again.

Dear Heavenly Father help our unbelief and help us all take that leap of faith of belief first and then confession of our sins to God. May our righteousness be built on the solid foundation of your word according to your promise and desire for all man to believe in you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

Psalms 32:5 KJV I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
