Repentance Of Teachers and Preachers
02/23/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Revelation 2:17-29 KJV
(17) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
(18) And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
(19) I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
(20) Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
(21) And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
(22) Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
(23) And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
(24) But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
(25) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
(26) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
(27) And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
(28) And I will give him the morning star.
(29) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

I never would want to hear a minister that could not admit that even teaching he or she has never made a mistake. It the mistakes that God corrects one on when teaching or preaching on that is urgent to correct. Yet is those errors found over the course of time that is the pricking of the continual work of grace in a ministers life. Though I believe no other gosepl then that which found in scripture through Christ Jesus. I do declare that many religions out there that many believe and are consider false to my faith. Yet when teaching someone of another faith about your faith, it is important to come to common links of their faith with yours. It is to show that even your faith agrees with certain moral ethical things especially love. Yet to out right teach a religion beyond educational purpose especially for working or interacting with another group could and probably is Idolatry. The whore teaches many false things in the church, including alluring them to bow to other idols. There is no room for pagan worship in the true church. There many traditions taught in our land that is borderline or cross the line into pagan roots. Christians had used pagan roots of common thread or link to allow there kids to be like everyone else. From the use of valentine hearts to express you care for someone to candy of giving a gift of love. Yet I do not think I even knew it had pagan origins until adulthood. Even priest who used the traditions of finding similarities of faith to combined celebration for their region, it still had pagan origins. Priest even loosing their life because of their faith in Christ for corrupting pagan world for there Christian faith.

God gives man the opportunity to repent once corrected on the error of teaching and preaching, and even allows repentance on allowing a false teacher behind the pulpit. What God will not allow is corruption of his church or his people. Man needs not to kill or destroy the idolaters but to allow Christ to do it. Yet to kick them from the church is important. The issue of homosexuality behind the pulpit is to deny God’s word about what He declares about homosexuality. It is like allowing any adulterous person behind the pulpit is not good or healthy for a church. If there is no repentance then that person should not be allowed to teach. The homosexual that is caught in this life style, might minister to people like himself and show kindness to others in other aspects of the church because the church is full of sinners saved by grace. The church has a responsibility to keep teachers that would lead the sheep astray out of the pulpit. Yet it is important to see if showing them scripture won’t bring about repentance, or allowing God through prayer to remove the problem. Either way it takes prayer.

Teachers and preachers by God’s Spirit has to obey his instruction behind the pulpit, false teachers like Balaam have to speak what God says too. However Balaam also preaches in their own churches. The life style of the minister might reflect who child they are or it may not all the time. I think when one puts ministers under the magnify glass they going to find many things happening, one they never live up to your idea of ministry because they are not Jesus. He was the only perfect minister. Even false ministers can live a discipline life style. Yet if someone is hooking on the street that a clear sign there is a problem you don’t want behind your pulpit. Or if someone is picking a hooker up and taking them to a motel that a good sign you do not want them in your pulpit. However someone giving out tracks in places that Christ would of gone if still walking in the flesh you better then ask God how can I help that person improve or come beside them and aid them in their work you called them too. Yet if tempted to sin in place you go out of your will power and ability to rely on God to be able to resist just pray. Not every one called to street ministry, not everyone called to a bar ministry. Yet every church has people that work in ministry in different places they work and live.

The church of Thyatira was having a problem with false teachers in the pulpit and what to do with the situation. The situation was hurting their church. Yet the people had a love for others that had positive outreach. Jesus loved that church because of their caring nature and sharing of the cross, what he did not approve of was Balaam and the Whore behind the pulpit. One must beware of what the enemy will attempt to do. There soul purpose is to reach the highest position in the church and destroy it. Not to bring in sheep of the field or to build up God’s people but to destroy it. If there is tearing away of God’s people something wrong. Jesus wants to encourage the church to fire people from the position who lead people astray or bring them to repentance. Repentance better. Jimmy Swagger repented years ago and so did Jim Baker. The church world cringed at the hypocrisy of the ministries that confessed, yet not realizing even these men did what was best for their congregation at the time, whether it was good for them or not, some would say one lost their job completely. God wants to bring us to our knees of repentance Wants our confession of error and turning away from sin.

He wants the church to know there hope through repentance to live the life God intended for all even those in pulpit. Even ministers have to repent so when they do, be kind because you to have to repent if you are a believer. You can not keep from doing so at some point because one is needing that altar of grace. Protect the church today.

Dear Heavenly Father protect your people and give them the grace to stand against the enemy and the false teaching behind the pulpit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
