God's Story: Lesson 31 12/31/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 7:1-6 KJV
1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Bound by the law of man as long as we live, and bound as a woman(church) to Christ(husband)bound by law of Christ as long as he lives, if married to another man she is adultress because of idolatry. Can Christ die again? The answer no in regards to the flesh, but his word can be almost obsolete in the world to man. It will remain if the rocks alone cry out and the wind whips by, an the tornado rushes to the flow the hurricane force winds. As long as their seed time and harvest God's word remains, and does not die. When does God's word die, when he destroys heaven and earth, by no means no. The New Jerusalem the home of the believers future dwelling with Christ. We see the rapture in Matthew 27 of the saints at the cross, and on third day Christ rises again. What then are we dead, by no means are we dead or left behind. Is His Word still not witht us, with seed time and harvest. Are not he moon and stars in the sky, does not the rocks tremor. We waiting for the final rapture of the church, so we have a new heaven and a new earth that God has made for you and me that believe in his Son Jesus. Are we willing to claim Jesus as Lord and Savior today?
Our obedience to the law brings death, why because just obeying the law as no value though it be holy, why, because unless we believe in God and Christ, and walk by his word and Spirit, we are only obeying the law. The law by itself has no value. When a person is saved, it because of believe and we learn to serve in newness of God's Spirit within us. and not to the old letter of the law. Even gentiles obey the law. That is the problem most understand not the importance of faith. Without faith we can not produce fruit of the Spirit, love, hope, peace, kindness, gentleness, long suffering and joy to name a few. Let us not forget patience being a work of the Spirit that not within ourselves.
If we walk by Spirit we will not fulfill the flesh, meaning at some point the law of man going to conflict with God, but until it does, continue obeying the law, and when does allow God to demonstrate his Spirit within our actions and deeds. What are those deeds, the represent the fruit of the spirit and not the fruit of unrighteousness, and evilways. If you going to measure look for love and not evil. Look for good edible fruit that safe for all to consume. Love is not envy and love is not something that needs to be fluffed, it something that is seen by all around without finger pointing. All understand the fruit of love. It brings life to all and hope to all. God spread his love through his Son Jesus and by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit/Christ's Spirit.
Have a super wonder New year, thinking on Christ love for us, for his hope he brings, for the fruit in the life of a believer he brings to all. Remember love is not hate, God's fruit is edible to all.
Dear Heavenly Father, bear in the heart of all believers your fruit, you love, not because I say so, but you word declares you do it, for your glory and honor. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Galatians 5:16-26 KJV
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
