God's Story: Lesson 15
12/15/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 11:1-16 KJV
1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

What does Christ coming mean? It means more then just the Savior of the world is born. It also removes the reproach of Judah(the seven daughters(towns, or surrounding areas around Jerusalem). If we stop and look at the seven daughters they represent seven tribes that are in shabbles because of sin, and their return to Jerusalem, and God makes repairs to them and their cities. There appearance glorious once more, making way for the Savior to come. Making way for the branch of Jesse(Father of King David and offspring of Jesse) to be born. You have to study Isaiah 4 to understand this picture I just gave. Jerusalem and surrounding areas were no longer war torn, and looked as it perhaps as it once did, in preparation of the Messiah coming. God had brought the remnant home and now would remove the reproach of the people by sending the ensign(sign of a new born king) to the people. All prophesied in Isaiah of the return of Israel to the taking away of reproach of the woman(Israel) and even the sins of the people.

The understanding of these events only tells of a time when even the wolf would lay down by the lamb and the children would play over a snake hole and not be bit. Yet there was much turbulance at the rebuilding of the temple and the uprising that still occurred before the birth of Christ. The American nation is peaceful for the most part but there are times of uprising and discomfort within it. I do not doubt that our world in America is not much different then the time of Israel. Nazareth the city that Jesus would be raised in was in the land of Galilee and area where both Jews and Gentiles lived side by side. In order for a time of peace to be in Jerusalem, it has to come with people not always in agreement leaving in disagreement that does not always in in anger and war. In other words people pick their battles of discord.

The land and the place of Christ birth would have to be prepared for his coming. Is our world being prepared today for Christ second coming? Since 1945 Jewish families have been returning to Israel. Is this important to Christ return? Does it matter for the end of times? God establishes rules for his return. It does not mean Judah seven woman will surround Jesus. Many will not believe. How many have to see to believe, and even with knowledge loose because unbelief still. Christ will crush the woman of unbelief because they are the bride that unprepared for his coming. Yet those who believe are the bride or church ready for Christ second return. What state are we in with tribulation all around us? What state are we in with the world upside down and inside out and yet still at peace with our neighbors? We are in the day of Noah, and like the days of Christ first coming. Are we wearing blinders to Christ return, or the uprising around Israel that is coming that is not of Christ at all. Christians the church will be persecuted, just like Jewish people, this enemy that surrounds might even talk like the church world but is not. Are you going to sit and meditate on God's word and listen to God's Spirit, or will you only listen to the call of one's emotions, or the legalistic life style of faith that is not faith.

The signs of judgment for sin is in our world, but it might not be the final judgment we are seeing happening in our world. God's people watched a storm of great magnitude and could do nothing but pray, and those unbelievers looked watch and wonder when it be over. My husband and I said a prayer and continue to prayer like anyone else aware of the tornadoes the other night in Kentucky. Early pictures, nothing clear because it was night. Morning showed through pics only told what people were dealing with and they need love, compassion, support and a lot of help. Help if you can, if you can not say a prayer, because God does hear his people.

Dear Heavenly Father, you are the Great I am, the controller of Christ return in incorruptible body, seen coming in a cloud. Yet we thank you for the ensign of Christ birth, that reminds us how you prepared your people and the Gentile people for Christ coming. Continue to lift those in crisis during the Christmas season up to you, and that their needs will be met. That their hope restored, and their joy renewed. Continue to build your church, to be strengthen by signs and wonders of your presences around them. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 4:1-6 KJV
1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
