God's Story: Lesson 4 12/04/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisIsaiah 9:1-13 KJV
1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
As a Christian adult, I think one thing one might struggle with is God's authority in one's life verse the governmental authority. We are taught in the New Testament to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Christ daily even before Jesus even goes to the cross(Luke 9:23) Take up not our sin, but burden of living for Jesus and his ways. Most minister will probably use this as a spiritual guide and not a physically going to the cross that Christ went too. Abraham in his early journey fear of foreign governments more then he trusted in God. Yet God still protected his wife Sarah, despite what Abraham did with his fear, but returning Sarah back to Abraham. Man submision to foreign ideas in option to God is only because the devil really makes the other way seem better, until injury, happens to someone. The insurrection in our own nation makes one ask did America do right or wrong. Then I going to ask you trading one's governmental leaders going to change man's control over the government? Until Christ comes the same way he departed the authority of man is going to exist in our governments, whether we like it or not. Jesus turn the money changers table over, the Priesthood wanted no part of that, and allowed Christ to go to the cross for it, because of killing by the High Priest Son. Man continues to choose man's government over Christ. Nazism, Buddahism, and few more religious groups out there claim that they are spiritually God. Their authority and their power. It is a form of the anti Christ and not of Israel either in the since of Old Testament Israel.
Why is any of it important, because God was going to establish his throne one earth until man rejected it. This was all the will of God. Even King Saul didn't want God's authority ruling in his land when he seen his power. What if Samuel had ruled and never anointed a king, what would the land of Israel been like, if Israel choose God's way all the way? Eli's sons were wicked, (I Samuel chapters 1-2) What it proves is each generation is responsible for their choice of godly leaders or devils. People that desires only money, and wealth like Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Persia and Rome. No I am not leaving out anyone I got to include Israel. Most all desire ungodly means of survival. Do we need ungodly means to survive in this world is a better question. A true survivalist in the wilderness would say it possible to survive on one's own. Yet to do so still means you need money from somewhere, and you better not steal it, because it the way man barters to exchange for commerce, or other things, designed by man. Now Elijah was feed by a raven, an angel and a widow woman, that God provided in him on his journey. The people in the wilderness was water and feed. How many times did they really ask God to provide food for them. There is a small reference to God sitting down with Israel and eating a meal, before the worship of the golden calf. Yet this would not occur again after the golden calf experience. The constant struggle of trusting God and not man.
Some people will say this vaccine is trusting in man? Or you can say God is providing the brazen pole with a snake on it to look at for protection. Vaccine not cure, or full protection, but it might slow down how it attacks your body's system so your body's natural immune system can heal itself, with proper scientific medicine. How are you going to look at the Vaccine is going to depend where you are in the wilderness. Many Christians have died to Cov-19 because of lack of vaccinations, because they believe in God's protection. I understand their view, but I also know Jesus said that there would always be physicians among us in Matthew 9 I believe it means there will be people with knowledge to heal diseases and the power to do so. Our government and our doctors can be Christians in power and not devils, but some are only after a way to make more money and improve their own finances. The 400,000 dollar tax relief does it effect our president and other political leaders. I do not know, but it is a question I have concerning President economics and America build back better policies.
God prophecizes of his Son coming to the rule the earth. Man has put Scripture and other religions into our government for decades. Islam only puts Islam into their laws? Where did Mohammed study? He did study both Christianity and Judahism. Scary, frightening, or reality of what evil rules getting into power can do to a religion, or even a political government. When men and woman fight for human rights, then you choosing your own pathway of corruption, harm to oneself, and it no longer in the government hands unless what you doing to yourself is harming someone else. Suicide effects who else, those around that care about you. Who does suicide effect those that do not know you and hear about it. It like a smack in the face that society could not help you, and could not love you enough to be their when you needed them most, but it teach them nothing. If you going to make a difference in society teach Christ and about God's love, hope and joy. Teach them the ability to achieve even if it is only on a small level of achievement, stop thinking of yourself this season of love, joy and hope. Bodies grow old and we have to fight to live. This is the season many give up without a fight. Don't be sad if alone, or in crowd, God has not foresake anyone that receive His Son has Lord.
My husband and I were talk the other day about our life and how we have big dreams and many will never be fullfilled, mostly because of lack of income and ability to achieve a larger income at the moment. Yet we live life to the fullest with the hand we are dealt. We wrestle with our struggles and our short comings. If you think life is going to be a piece of cake you are wrong. However what does any of this have to do with Christ coming. When Christ comes as a believer you will be completely healed, living in a new world with all your good hopes and desires with God and his Word. There will be no more sorrow just happy thoughts, peace, and tranquility that this world knows nothing about because of ungodliness and the darkness of evil man in our world. Governments will come and go, but truth who sits in power will be define whether a wolf in sheep clothing can be spotted, or whether a man that fears God is in power in our land. How will we know them, not by their cunning ways of politics, but only God's Spirit. If you are a believer until Christ comes we need to be praying for our leaders, there were even men not of faith in God, but still had a fear of God in their life and submitted to the will of God upon hearing the word of God like King Abimelech did when God spoke to him about Sarah.
Can we respect God enough as a people to least give him honor due him by the things he shows the world and individuals of his power. God does reveal it to people that do not always do it God's way. Christ did it God's way and he was nailed by man, but God rose him again to show is power could not be conquered or stopped. That anyone willing to take up their cross and follow him and do his will, and receive his Son as Savior and believe would have eternal life. First spiritually and then it is a physical and spiritual journey. Elijah did not starve, might of missed a meal, but did not die. Who do we hope in, the world to save us or God.
God's people does not reject him as King, only those that choose not his way of life and walking according to his will. Has a believer we can work within the legal system to improve it based on established laws or laws that can be changed to be better. Christ birthday is coming. As a Christian I celebrate on December 25, and their some in another group that celebrates in January. The point being that when we worship Christ as a new born king, we still choosing him or rejecting him at the manger scene? May the Christmas you choose Christ as King. Let the world not reject Christ this year.
Dear Heavenly Father, as I take up my cross to follow you, I ask for your kingdom to come and you and your Son to reign. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Deuteronomy 33:26-29 KJV
26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
Luke 9:23-26 KJV
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
