The Light Shines To The Gentile Land
12/07/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 9:1-8 KJV
1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.

The darkness of the Gentiles is not about skin it about the heart and soul of man. In Galilee a light would shine when Jesus returned from Egypt. They would knew not that a king was in their land, Government would be upon this child shoulders and his name would be Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father and the Prince Of Peace. Isaiah is one of the most prophetic books that surround the Messiah coming. Yet it easy to ask how do we know that was spoken of the Messiah, because it speaks of a king that was coming to Israel. Right now the land of Israel was divided, but this division would not be in regards to leadership with the Messiah came. In fact the nation of Israel no long divided by kingdoms because of the wars of heathens in the land of Israel. Both nations had gone into exile and those that came home, gather together as a nation of one and not two under one God, waiting on the Messiah their coming king.

This king having many titles Counselor, The Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace, and we hear these titles every Christmas and do any of us think what it really means to be counselor. A couselor/advisor to our soul. Is not the Holy Spirit an advisor to the believers heart. Is not Christ the Mighty God and eternal or everlasting Father of the New covenant established at the crucifixion and resurrection, as Christ paid for our sins, and cover the old with his blood and rose to victory to a new life. Being the last of the Old covenant and first of the New covenant. Christ came in peace as infant and went home in peace as he taught his disciples 40 days after the resurrection. God gave us a peace offering for our sins, the offering of sins paid and sin debt clear to all that would believe.

A close of a time frame as the ark of Noah was a close of a time frame. Time frame closed with the resurrection of dead when Christ died. This same time frame will come again when the trumped sound the dead in Christ will rise first and we all be changed in a twinkling of an eye. Then the dead without Christ will rise to face the judgment. To face the horror of what has befallen our world as we know it, to wait the destruction of themselves and heaven, earth and hell in the fiery pit.

If God is our counselor, and Savior then we have nothing to fear of our future in the world we live in today. Yet the prophesy of the Messiah is important to understanding that century we live in. We have to know with the new covenant that came with Christ Jesus the old is gone and new has come. When we believe we are a New Creation, sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise bearing his mark, and He writes the commandments on our heart. He fills our heart with His Spirit to help us, to guide us to present us with his gifts of the Holy Spirit to use in his ministry to the nations and world around us. Our world is so diverse we do not know anymore if someone is american born or foreign born. We know not ancestory even by skin color, only perhaps by slight accent, and not always true. Yet we see ourselves only ministering to people from our land we need to halt with that view and realize all our contacts we are witness to, if not in words but our actions of who the Messiah is. Not one of us act so wisely or so good all the time.

Unity Christ brings is about love, hope and peace to the heart of man, a global minister to the nations around Israel and the gentile nations, as he lives among the gentiles of the Roman world to the dismay of the religious leaders who call continously to the nations around them of their unclean state and unworthiness to enter the temple.

As we prepare for the story of Christ coming let us not forget he came to unify the world to him, not to us but to faith in the God above, to him through the cross, for payment of sin. That whosover belief would nto perish. All would call him counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of peace, yet he be born in the family of his people he chose from the beginning to carry his message of truth to the world.

Dear Heavenly Father, let us hold to the hope of our Salvation and to the Prince of Peace as we look at a time of discord in our own nation. Through time of sorrow but not without hope. That Christ is our everlasting counselor by His Spirit, He is God almighty the everlasting Father, and the prince of Peace. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 7:14-16 KJV
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
