Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

2 Corinthians 4:13-18 KJV
(13) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
(14) Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
(15) For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
(16) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
(17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
(18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The value of what we can not see, is often taken for granted. The veins in our wrist are seen and felt under the skin of our flesh, yet the heart is not seen by human eye without out some type of machine or surgery. Yet the heart can be pierced with the words of the mouth of another. The heart can be pierced by things not necessarily tangible but felt at the level of pain. The heart ache of the soul is of great value to individual but it has no cash value. The ache of the soul is unseen, but is felt with each passing breath. Yet the heart ache of the soul is not eternal but can carry the eternal hope of life eternal.

The apostles were willing to die for faith not seen by human eyes, beyond the proof of open doors and miracles of others. The apostle taught by Christ personally. Yet the hope of eternal life is not seen by the naked eye, but the spiritual truth of reality seen by individuals. The hope of faith only taken on the value of truth into the heart and mind of each individual. Without hope faith does not continue. People who experienced Christ grace, and hope know the hope of his eternal reality.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the grace of hope you bring each of us, especially during the Christmas season to our heats. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Hebrews 11:1 KJV
(1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
