Rejoice Make Way For The Horn
12/07/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 1:67-80 KJV
(67) And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
(68) Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
(69) And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
(70) As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
(71) That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
(72) To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
(73) The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
(74) That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
(75) In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
(76) And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
(77) To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
(78) Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
(79) To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
(80) And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

The Horn of Salvation had come, and the father of the Horn of Salvation began to rejoice at his son’s birth. Horn symbolizing helper of deliver of the salvation message. The horn meaning strength as well. Something to think on the strength of the salvation message begins with the messenger that gives it. Unless God speaks as directly has He did to Abraham, Samuel, Moses, King David, Solomon and a few more one might as realize is God has sent a messenger of faith to you the one speaking the Gospel message. People without faith in God needs a messenger. Though God can speak to all people, He sometimes uses people to prepare the way for his coming, by preparing the people who never heard him speak or know his voice.

Assurance of hearing God comes with knowing what He stands for. We can not ignore the God of the Old and Think He not the same God in the New Testament or when His Spirit comes to teach and help God’s people . What we can recognize is that though times have changed God has not changed. He is not evolving like we are. God is all knowing, all wisdom and all strength. He is all loving and all comforting. There is a condition of faith in God that we also must follow Him. God did not call us to follow man, but to follow His Son, to follow Him to the right relationship with the Father.

God gave us a horn a preparation to receive the Messiah. Yet this messenger name John would prepare not only his people but the gentile nation to receive the Messiah. Jesus was coming to redeem his people. Jesus needed a stage director, no just a stage announcer. Someone to announce the time of his coming was now to a people of unbelief.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the people in my own life that took time to share the gospel message of Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Revelation 22:16-17 KJV
(16) I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
(17) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
