Living By Faith 08/13/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris2 Corinthians 5:1-11 KJV
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
What is our earthly house but a tabernacle that is dissolved, we have a building clothed by God in heaven. Remember Jesus said we are like the angels in heaven, they neither marry nor are given in marriage. The resurrection of the dead is those in hell, those in heaven are the one living. When we die we not only get a new spiritual body but one that been more then transformed but designed and built by God. The one's on earth at the time of Christ return will meet him in the sky. However those dead will rise again to face the judgment. The things of the flesh perish, or made of the earth. Adam was made of the clay of the earth before being placed in the garden of Eden. Woman was made of Adam's rib in Eden. Eve knew not what earth was, man may have for a time, no evidence he did not know about the earth he was created with.
What is my point his morning. Is it only to talk once more about heaven and our eternal hope. Or only to talk about the transformation from the earthly flesh to eternal body in heaven. Actually the topic is to walk by faith and not by sight. All these things just mentioned must be taken by faith. Faith in God has to be taken without evidence of ever seeing God in order to believe. Those that seen the risen Christ like doubting Thomas who when seeing the nail scarred hands bowed down and worshipped Jesus and called him Lord(John 21). Faith is believing in what can not be seen as well as evidence in front of you. There is evidence of God in the world by his creation, even to the microscopic and macroscopic view of the world. Other evidence is the testimony of the work of God in a believer. The work of God in the home, workplace, church, and so forth in the form of answered prayer. The answer prayer in the life of a believer, enables the impossible to be believed, when no other evidence of the ability of man is present, but it only could be God or superhuman ability.
Whether we are at home in heaven, or home in earth we are spiritual connected to God by spiritual birth of his Spirit. We see not the Spirit but one day we see the throne of God and be in his prescene, but for now we follow his Spirit, follow not the flesh of man, but the power of God through answer prayer, through his word, and by anointing of the Holy Spirit given to each and everyone of us. So we learn to walk by faith and not by sight.
Dear Heavenly Father, how we need that help in belief daily, through your response to our prayer request, to the evidence of you interworking spiritually in our life, and always in your creation and things visible to us that there is a high power that loves each of us. Who sent his Son to be Savior of the world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 22:29-33 KJV
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
