Cornerstone Of Faith And Circumcized Heart 08/8/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris1 Peter 2:1-10 KJV
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Jesus is our chief cornerstone of faith. If I going to build a wall or a house, I must start witha cornerstone block a foundation that going to be solid build upon so that the wall or house will not crumble. Now we know a man made wall or house eventually falls. The Great Wall of China is a very solid wall if one thinks on it long enough, because it was built and is still seeable from space. Though there are parts that have been replaced over centuries and not decades, it still has remained solid reminder of empire that desire to keep the enemy out. Now man made struction is not the same as God's Spiritual structure. Yet there time we have to rebuild on a principal of faith once learned, it does not mean that the whole wall was destroyed or non existing. No in fact the wall need a time of observance and reread, to remember the wall of importance much like they do the wars of this century of battle with names to remember. To remember is as important as to know why man suffer and died for a nation and nations around the world. Christ was one man sent by God to be propiatiator for not only our sin but the sin of the world(I John 2:1-2). The sacrifice of goat, bulls and lambs had to be repeated, but the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for our sins was the only sacrifice necessary for forgiveness of all sin if one by law of God would only believe in Jesus and receive his atonement for our sin.
The other day watching a mother correct her young son only reminded me did he learn through his punishment the consequence of pulling his sister's hair or would he pull his sister's hair again. Did punishment teach the law of do not pull sister's hair or did the law only make a punishment for the one who broke the law. We can break a law but if we do, and we take on the punishment for the crime but did we learn our lesson? Adam and Eve learned that the punishment they received was death, despite the lack of knowledge of death, they would soon learn the consequence of what death would mean as Abel their son was killed: the absence from the person that died, the suffering of loss, and the burden of pain of loosing a love one were the cost of Abel death. God felt that pain as well as the blood of Abel cried out to God from the ground.
Do we truly get the cost of someone life for sin? Do we understand Jesus is the only one that can circumcise our hearts for God the Father. All other circumsions come with only correction of the law, but not the heart. What does it mean to believe? It means to have a heart circumcised for God his way, and not by what we think is God's correction, mercy and love. Not by our choice of what we think will save us, but the new living way of Christ's being the chief cornerstone. When the dead rose the day of Christ death it marked an end of era of the law, but with Christ's resurrection it established a new law that is written on the heart of man by the Holy Spirit, who enables and helps a person from sinning against God the Father and Christ's Jesus. This circumcision comes first with belief. The circumcision is done not by human hands or human will, but the will of God, who enables all mankind to be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. He is the foundation and chief cornerstone of our faith to which all things that are built upon is through. The writing on the heart is the first wall that the Holy Spirit writes upon. The first law is belief in God and Jesus his son.. The second law has to be with the fruit like love, faith, hope and so forth. Let us begin to build first upon the solid rock who is Jesus the chief cornerstone of faith. Then let us begin to look more closely at the laws of God that bear the fruit of faith in Christ Jesus.
Where is your faith this morning, is it established on Jesus or a good feel vibe? Until you allow Christ in your heart, allowing God to build the wall of your faith, and the house of your faith you will not be saved. It is God's way of the new covenant through Christ Jesus. The old is gone and the new is come. God is establishing the covenant of faith and eternal life. Where are you in receiving this covenant of faith? You do not have to be good to receive Christ only be willing to say Lord build in me the structure of faith, hope and love through Christ Jesus. Build in me a wall, a house built on Christ Jesus. Pray with me: I have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but I receive your salvation plan Lord Jesus. Build in me a structure of faith that will not fall or crumble but will rely on the chief cornerstone of faith. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Dear Heaven Father, for those that spoke those last few sentence with me from the heart begin to build in them a solid wall of faith that is designed by your Spirit on the walls of our hearts. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Romans 3:22-31 KJV
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Hebrews 10:1-23 KJV
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
