Are You A Child Of God
08/7/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Hebrews 12:6-11 KJV
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

The world is often called the children of God, but are we children? There was time when you could look at the work of someone and declare his sonship or daughtership to God. Yet times have changed not because of our ability but the fact that God sent his only begotten into the world that who so ever believeth would not perish but would have eternal life. Faith never changed but our actions often declared who child we are. Yet when the law of God was applied it marked whether you were God's child or a devil. Think as believers if we were marked by the law and not the Holy Spirit. Would we stand a chance of not being marked and destined for hell? Sacrifices had to be made yearly and in some cases daily for forgiveness of sin. If we follow the law would we be still a child of God. Everyone breaks a law at sometime in their life time. No one is perfect. Yet if you marked by God because of faith and not by works or action then you saved because you believe. Even after salvation one still sins, but God begins that work of correction as a Father would a child and does not correct the bastard the same way. The bastard is corrected on the day of judgment. The bastard has no father to correct him, because he not God's son. He does not believe in God. He is like a thief ever looking into the church world desiring to be a child but can not be not because he not a good person but he does not want to have faith in God.

The bastard is the antichrist, the devil, Satan, or whatever name you wish to call him. He wants to talk to God but he does not want to do things God's way. He wants to yell at God, declaring God is defeated and yet he knows his time is short and he running to and fro throught he earth to deceive many. Telling many they not good enough to get into heaven and so forth. Not if faith is the only thing that matters to God, but that belief is the defining point of salvation to any that believe. To be a child of God is to desire to do good things for Jesus. To do good things because of how much Christ has done for you. Our desire to live holy, to serve God with our heart to believe because He declare and shown his love to us. See the devil believes and trembles but he does not do the will of God.

As a child of God, he corrects us, pricks our heart when we sin by the Holy Spirit. The knowledge of our sin is on heart and soul, and reason we learn to turn away from it. It God's red buzzer to say yeah you better listen you falling into sin. Yet our sin needs purging from our life, we obey not always willingly, but we submit to his will in our life concerning those things not good for us.

It may seem like I talk alot about sin, but realize upon faith we no longer servant of sin. One is to strive to live for Jesus, to do the will of God. To be faithful in our hearts and soul. If we understand God loves us and desires us not to be under the yoke of the law, but the law only a reminder of things that please not our Heavenly Father. Our souls no longer covered by sin, but by precious blood of Jesus. The wall being much more then a reminder of redemption, but a reminder of faith and things that Christ covering and a reminder of the value of faith. Christ paid our sin debt, the correction is for our benefit to not keep crucifying Jesus over and over.

Israel was under the law and outsiders were adopted into the tribe by the laws. Faith became second and the law of adoption became because of obedience to the law. God never intended adoption to come by the law into his kingdom but only adoption by faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, help our unbelief in times of trouble, hardship, and joy. Help us to strive in faith to do things pleasing to you and not to live in opposition in need of correction. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Galatians 4:1-7 KJV
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
