Abide In God's Love
8/27/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 15:9-17 KJV
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

If I could talk all day about God's love only and nothing else this would be the subject maybe more dear to the believers heart, for they understand God sent his only Son because he loved the world. When we think of God's love we can not deny the world is not always for God or loves even God back. In fact some understand the power and authority of God and still hate him. We have to wonder if God loved his own son so much why was he willing to give him up, knowing he would return one day.

The fires and California and hurricans along the coast only tell the fury of God's wrath to come, though at the moment they occur it seems as if God's wrath is being poured out in some places. Yet is this a cause and effect of wind currents or always the wrath of God? It seems unloving act upon the people of the world. God says he builds people up some for destruction and others for hope, we have to truly wonder who is loved. Christ opposition years were not years of fear but years of knowing the enemy was not in agreement with Jesus and some even wished to kill him. Yet some of his ministry was met with a welcome sight by the crowd and the individuals that sought him. Those are the people that loved him, and knew He was Messiah. Why God would send his Son to bring hope to the believer of a day promised of eternal life, and also bring about the wrath of the world that was to come upon his Son. How could a Heavenly Father allow the torment of his own Son. How can God allow a storm or wild fire plague our nation along with corona virus, flooding and lets not forget tornados. How can we find God's love in the mist of the storm and pandemic?

With the suffering of man comes compassion and hope. Without suffering we know not about hope. What I mean is we can not see the brighter picture of God's love. We can not see how preventive storm, the turning of the storm, the heavy rain in the middle of a wild fire burning is a blessing in disguise. How can we be thankful for the storm of destruction, that kills even the innocent. How can I say God is a God of love this morning. How could Christ call God loving knowing the cup he would bear for the world.

When we understand the Christ was the word of God the Spirit of prophesy and understand the Christ in the flesh was the fulfillment of his word and prophesy and prophesy to come, it makes our understanding of God's creating someone for a purpose and one of both destruction and hope. Storms are meant for destruction but also for hope. With the storm comes the cleansing of the land. My thoughts yesterday if the hurricane could wipe out Corona virus it would be nice, if the cleansing of the storm would destroy disease without bring other disease it would be nice, but it not a reality.

God's love is for our understanding of his compassion for us. We can not worry about who God has ordained for destruction for we see not their heart or their thoughts. We can only love as God loved us in our sinfulness, shining light on all that will hear the word of God and believe. Knowing with his love comes destruction of evil, persecution of the saint/innocent by faith. Then we have to read verse John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".

The compassion of mankind to give up their own time, their own wealth, and even their own body to protect to serve, to love is greater then any act known to man in regards to aid another living soul. God sent Son to demonstrate an act already shown through out scripture, no Christ act was greater because of his ability to forgive sin, to cleanse the heart of mind of the evil act of crucifying and nailing him to the cross, everytime we reject His word, his truth, without justification by man, because he did nothing wrong, and yet it can be proven that by man's law Christ declared his authority over the nation of Rome by declaring his kingship and lordship by the Triumphal entry, the festival of waving of the palm branches unto the Lord, but only because of who he is and was the Alpha and the Omega in street attire for mankind. Coming as a friend of the people, healing, doing wonders and miracles and the people still rejected him both gentile today.

I am here writting telling you that mankind rejects God and He keeps loving us, by demonstrating his power, his ability to control and yet giving us free choice to choose him, or not to, knowing the path we take will define our future. God's unconditional love in the mist of the storm. i seen a locomotive barreling down on me with no way of escape, but in the heat of the moment, I also found God's grace sufficient in the storm. I should of been dead, but survived a wreck that should of been my destruction.

We have to ask if God is going to allow destruction, he also has the ability to take us through it, and not always removing it, or taking away the pain that might come with it. If we go through disaster with God, it far different then going without God. How do we love others, going through the storm of their life with them, rejoicing with, caring about others that are not always our equal in financial world. Poor or rich, need help. Just because people look secure, it does not mean they don't need pray, a thumbs up, because right now hugs are not always permitted. It the compassion of men and women that show the love of Christ compassion. Some of these people are only mimicking the original act of love, with no belief. Love is a universal act not of anyone group, but it maybe act of believers because they care for those not their own as Christ did.

God so love the world he did two things he gave man freedom to choose his god. Two he gave them the freedom to live their life as they chose. Yet when we choose God we choosing to do things his way, to adopt his ways into our life. We choosing to show compassion. Even king Abilemech chose to show love to Abraham by returning his wife because of God's warning. Even idolators can have a fear of God's wrath, but also have compassion, because when he sent Abraham away, he sent him away with livestock. He was king he did have too.

The point is God does not have to love, does not have to take us through the storm, does not have to deliver but when he does those that walk free know it was the hand of God. Sometimes God compassion comes with death and not allowing man to suffer. Yes God can heal and restore, but sometimes he just takes them home to be with him.

To love one another is to show compassion as God does us in our daily life. To love one another as God did us by sending his Son to be our burden bearer and redeemer. Can we bear each other struggles maybe not, but we can sometimes lighten the road or help carry the cross as Simon of Cyrene help carry Christ cross up to Calvary where they hung Christ on the tree. Simon could not remove the crime acused of Christ, nor could he take away man's punishment for it, but he could lessen the road to Calvary. The human flesh of Christ weak, but the power of who he was, took him up that hill to Calvary. That our job to carry our cross and follow Jesus, knowing he help us carry the burden in our life the ones not related to sin, for sin must be taken to the cross of Jesus for forgiveness of sin. We do not have to carry the weight of our sin into eternity, it lay it at the cross, not to be picked up again. If we follow in Christ footsteps and abide in that love, we are his disciple if we believe.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your compassion on each of us by sending Son to demostrative your love and what is to be with you every day. Help us to love as you loved us and sent your son. Help us to love others in the storms of life Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Corinthians 1:2-6 KJV
2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
