Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLuke 24:1-12 KJV
1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
Are you ever wondering what God speaks to your heart after event. Are you ever wondering about that God did after event, or are you wondering during the process of the event. Wondering, is the key word today. Every passage including in the Continual Scripture as the word wondering in it. The wondering of Peter has he departed from seeing the empty tomb. The wondering of Abraham Servant as he reach the well in the land from which Abraham was from and ask a girl whose daughter she was that water his camels, hoping this was some kin to Abraham. Wondering if God had made his journey prosperous. In Acts the story of the man healed jumping to his feet and the crowd wondering about this formal crippled man healing.
Wondering about God work in one's life and events of the life of others. Are we wondering how God can demonstrate his power in our life through just simple act of a resurrection of Christ, to the a simple healing, to the finding the right person on a long journey at the appoint hour by God. Simply daily living with God wondering how things work so beautiful in his time frame and not ours.
Let the amazement of God's work in our life be proclaimed and celebrated as we journey with God. For me God has provided in times of need, in time of hardship, times of hopelessness, times of pain and times of victory, times of just the simple quiet road of faith with no affliction occuring. God providing faith through wonderment. God providing faith through hope of seen hope of events in ones life. Where does your hope begin, how has your journey been confirmed in your walk of faith. Think for a moment can't remember that okay, start learning to write this stuff down so you can reflect on the hope God brings in your daily life.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the wonderment of answer of prayer of servant of Abraham, the words spoken before the empty grave, fulfilled with the tomb, and the story of healing of a man known to be crippled for years, to demonstrate your power and glory to testify to people unsaved for salvation. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Genesis 24:20-27 KJV
20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
21 And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
22 And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
23 And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?
24 And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
25 She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.
26 And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
27 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
Acts 3:9-12 KJV
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
