How Much Armor Do We Need
8/10/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

1 John 5:13-16 KJV
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

I will speak the truth there times we pray and we lack confidence in God's willingness to grant our needs or supply what we need or want, yet we are to go confidently to the throne when we ask God for anything in the name of His Son. Many prayer for others health including there own without even think about it. It is those requestion we see and believe and people get well, because it was asked in the name of Jesus. There are cases God does not heal, when we ask. We deal with the issue of did we ask? Then we deal with the issue if we did not ask, why did we not? Our failure to receive maybe because we did not ask. If child ask his parents for new shoes, sooner or later the child will have new shoes, if not a good pair that been handdown and is new to them. Yet it is still a new pair shoes. Point being a supply can not be granted without know what God will for the situation and need be. Stop right there. If we need to know what God's will is in a situation, then how can we know, only by God's Spirit, only by meditation on His Word to examine the truth of those God desires and wants for his people. We know God desires good things for us, and for all desires to be met, yet are we willing to seek first his kingdom, his righteousness, before seeing his will and supply for his will in our life.

David was given a hand me down armor from King Saul, only to tell Saul he could not use it because he had not approved it for battle for himself. The supply of weaponry granted David upon his willness to go and defeat Goliathe, yet David seen the only supply he needed was those things he knew how to use. God may provide more then we need, but what is it we truly needed maybe in our grasp. Sometimes we need to look to what we have and not what we do not have. No we look to God first and his will in our life and then at the supply and know the kingdom is ours but we need what we know how to use.

We desire to see lost saved, how are we going to lead them, not by what we do not know how to use, but by the road we traveled on to receive Christ. The understanding of our own need for a Savior. It not the theologians that as all the Biblical knowledge and verse memorized in the right order, that going to win, it is the reality of those humble enough to say you need to try Jesus. You need salvation. You need the hope of Christ in your life. It sharing how Jesus changed you. You need the weaponry of the king, but you have all you need when you first get saved to share Jesus. You will one day use the weapons of the king, but today you maybe using only the childhood weapons of a sling and a stone to het right between the eyes. When you pray go with confidence either what you need is in your grasp, or will be in your grasp one day. Do not worry what you have no clue what to use, know the full armor already there, and pray with the confidence that God is going to hear your request in prayer.

God with the confidence that God knows all your needs, that your prayer may be directed by the Holy Spirit who intercedes already in your life to ask for more then you ready for. Realize God maybe handed you the key to the kingdom through faith in Christ Jesus, but it not your time to use that key on the pearly gates, it your time, to stay right here holding that key to open up the promises of faith before you, through the hope hidden in his word by His Spirit. Knowing if that door is shut to see a person healed, there is reason it is shut, and not your concern, but your concern is to ask expecting to receive what God will provide. He takes someone, hopefully because that key to the pearly gate match the lock and the door was swinging open for that person to walk on in. That soul ready for what ahead inside the kingdom of God and not what was left behind no longer needed, but peace of eternal hope.

When we pray for needs to be meet, the banquet in heaven looks good, but what do we truly need to get down the road to the task God has before us to do for Him. What are we needing for the supper table the banquet or a bowl of broth and slice of bread? God knows what we have need of before we ask, because his Spirit who lives inside of us makes intercession for us, so go ahead an ask of God. See if that is His will to perform. If not that maybe a shut door or a door that may come later. God only knows. If you pray for your spouse and are not married you are praying for the spouse you hope will be your mate in life ahead, not for the spouse you have. Consider if you have not meet that spouse, you asking God for what a godly woman or man to lead your home. You asking for someone that will be your friend and lover. You asking God for the mate that he has designed for you.

Armor might fit, but it might not be time to wear the mantle and so you use what you know to use. Pray with confidence of a kings kid, because you are a child of God and desire to do his will. Pray with the hope he will grant not only what you need but the vision of what you will need on the road ahead. David had it all when he prayed, but he also knew hunger and where to find the food needed for his troop. Pray with confidence of knowing God hears you.

Dear Heavenly Father, intercede in our behalf knowing ahead what things we need, so when we ask you just hand them right out of the cabinet, and move us forward showing us what also we be using in days ahead. in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 8:26-39 KJV
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
