God's Roller Coaster Breath

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 40:3-8 KJV
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

The life and death of all mankind, begins and ends with the breath of God. God breathed into the nostrils of Adam and he became a living soul. Adam was given life, God's breath will take your breath as well. His breath breaths on us as it breaths on the grass and flower of the field, but all these things pass away and all things become new.

Jesus came making the way for the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles as well as Jews. Holy Spirit presence had not been felt among the people in a long time. God's Spirit still spoke to the believer. Jesus was a sign of the Lord's coming. Wait you said Jesus is God. Yes I did in the last lesson, but I want to clarify the Spirit of God testified who Son Jesus was and is. There is no one that is equal to Jesus the only begotten of the Father. John the Baptist is called the one that made the way for the Lord. How many making the way for the Lord are there. Every believer makes the way for new converts of faith, we all make way for the Lord. Not one of us is the Messiah, there is only one Messiah, the Word of God, the Christ, the everlasting Father, the prince of peace. All flesh must be destroyed at some point, but our eternal soul for a believer has an eternal body and for the unrepented a soul in torment. When we are born again it is a spiritual rebirth, not a physical rebirth upon salvation. The breath of God breaths on us so we can breath the word of life to others.

The breath of God baptizes the new believer. I remember going to a conference many years ago and I looked and there were no visible signs of fans, I sure there were, but the presents of God was very strong in that place. The friend that took me there, did not want anything to do with the service. It bother me some. I wonder if she could not feel the presence of God there, or feel the breath of God in the assembly. I care not where you go to worship do you feel the presence of God. Not everywhere you go to worship do you feel the presence of God. God is everywhere, but his presence is not felt among the heathens. It not going be felt in the places God is not. It does not mean God does not want to testify of His greatness among the people, it is a sign that many either waxed cold to the truth of God's word or were never saved to began with. The social church is not necessarily a room full of saved. The emotional roller coaster is easily produced in a group of people. The art of some preachers know how to get a crowd rolling on the coaster and hoping some do not know where the emergency break is to stop the flow of the Spirit because the flow of Spirit will roll right out the door into the highways and byways of the community. The roller coaster ride should be operated not by the minister but the Holy Spirit.

The minister roller coast is like the roller coaster going to a rock concert and coming back, the excitement of the event last and even filters into the home and workplace. Yet it not lasting. No man can keep the roller coast running by himself. The Holy Spirit is the only one that keep the roller coaster running until physical death and right into heaven gate the party keeps rolling on.

The disciples were in the upper room when Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit onto them. The breath of Christ was enough to set the disciple in John 20 on fire. Acts talks of tongues of fire upon the disciples head. Theses were probably different events by description, but one of the prelimary experience before the final anointing. The first anointing coming to produce faith, the second to produce the workman for the gospel of faith. Not until the disciples seen Christ ascend did the Holy Spirit baptism set the disciples on fire for the Lord. The disciples knew there bodies would fade, but they knew that God was preparing an everlasting body for their soul for they had seen Christ in human flesh and his glorified body. Christ promised them a home in heaven. A home built for them. He speaking spiritual, a home for the soul. One day our bodies will be glorified. For now we live with this old fleshly worn out body, that we keep trying to restore with physical health, by taking care of it.

The disciples would go making the way for the Lord. Tell about God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Many of them became mayrters of faith. Each one dying because for faith knowing the hope they had through salvation. They seen the hope with their own eyes. They beheld the glorify Lord. That hope would last beyond seeing Christ depart from them in a cloud. It would last their lifetime. They were willing to fight for other's souls. Fight to see other's saved by sharing the simple truth about God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yes not all believers are mayrters, John did not die for faith, but lived to be old. Though no doubt John did not stop testifying too, for there are after all five books recorded in our Bible He wrote. John, I John, 2 John, 3 John and Revelations. Have you felt the breath of God. God wants to breath on your life his word, his hope, His future for you, through prophesy. He wants to give your Spirit life, will you receive Christ today as Savior and Lord will you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit after receiving Christ, to allow God to mark you as his child, to empower you to testify of faith in Him. To allow Him to teach you about who He is. You will not get the opportunity after death. Need more information go to the how to be saved page by clicking the button below or above.

Dear Heavenly Father, may those not of Christ receive your truth into their life today, know you gave man your breath for life, death, and spiritual rebirth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: ohn 20:19-23 KJV
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
