Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Psalms 99:1-9 KJV
(1) The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
(2) The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
(3) Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
(4) The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
(5) Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
(6) Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
(7) He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
(8) Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
(9) Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

God sits between the angels. God judgment is just. He loves to judge his people, for He is a Holy God. He enacts judgment on the wicked and spoke to the prophets in pillars of clouds. He forgave those that executed judgment breaking the laws of God. Moses came off the mountain and broke the Ten Commandments of stone, and yet God forgave him when he executed judgment upon the people for worshipping and idol made by human hands. God commandments were not for us to judge the world by but for us to live by. Yet man executes judgment that belongs to God. God being Holy forgives this type of judgment, only in one sense I believe it had to do with governing of the legal law of the people. Moses judgment on the people allowed them to choose that very day who they would serve and those that chose baal, died. Those that chose the Lord drew their swords and killed. God had want to wipe out a people completely because of the sin of Idolatry. Prehaps Moses gave has much mercy under the circumstances without judging all. Yet God took away the privilege of dining at his table. A door to heaven dinning table, it appeared to be physical, and not just spiritual. Yet God still spoke to his prophets and leaders. Still surrounded Moses by a cloud.

On a rainy day brings fog beside any river if all conditions are right. Even without rain the creek bank can be foggy at night. Go on the top of the mountain ridge and be surrounded by clouds. Yet the cloud that surrounded Moses was the Spirit of God. How do I know, I witnessed an event once. The Holy Spirit was strong among the congregation. Something I never seen like this before. It was as if a cloud of smoke and not done by machine. You have to witness this presence of God to believe it. There some things I could speak but who would believe, it hard enough for people to believe scripture without having a relationship with God. God’s a holy God, but to come before his throne with repentance is all God desires, one that exalts his perfects and shows are imperfection to His holiness, our eminence we are not God or can be God. It asking for forgiveness and becoming holy person by faith in Christ Jesus. To be called to be holy is to be called to be a forgiven child of God. We are holy because of our calling, because He anoints us to do His will. We are holy because our sins are forgiven. Yet by our own power we are not holy, by own strength we are not holy, it is our weakness God strengthen us. It in our impurity that God changes us. It by our willingness to submit to Him that allows changes by His Word, and by His Spirit in our life. Our task is to ask forgiveness and receive Christ into our hearts. Receiving the price Christ paid on the cross for our sins, because a debt was owed for our transgressions. Knowing it was a debt no one but God alone could pay, only insures us that our works is not to be done because of slavery to debt owed, but because of the love of God given to us and we ought to love others as Christ loved us.

To be before the throne of God and in His presence only takes a moment of prayer. Takes a moment to worship God and lean on his everlasting arms. It not about being in a sanctuary but bowing right where we are. Bowing to the throne of God for He is everywhere. He will speak to our hearts and minds and heal our diseases. He is a God to honor and obey no matter what life circumstances are. He is not only just but He is our deliver. God taught Moses how to lead and execute judgment and even taught him it hurt at times.

Dear Heavenly Father you are a just God and Father of your children. May Christ reign in our hearts that believe and my your Holy Spirit be upon each believer so the unbeliever will believe. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
