Every Sunday A Psalms: My Soul Shall Not Die 8/23/2015
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPsalms 49:1-20 KJV
(1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
(2) Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
(3) My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
(4) I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
(5) Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
(6) They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
(7) None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
(8) (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
(9) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
(10) For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
(11) Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
(12) Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
(13) This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
(14) Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
(15) But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
(16) Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
(17) For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
(18) Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
(19) He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
(20) Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
The life of a believer is different then a life of non believer. King Saul had the anointing of God in his life, but his life was one filled with jealousy and hate for David who was also said to be like a son to him. Conflict no, because in retrospect David gave the king the respect of a son, though King had issues with his power because he was not a biological son. King Saul seen his kingdom going to another and not his own son, who was best friends with David. Solomon had the wisdom of God bestowed on him to rule God’s people, but he did not take God’s wisdom into advisement. David had the heart of God in his life and was also anointed by God to be king, but his role as a believer followed him all the days of his life, from the pasture to the grave. He desired to honor God and to be faithful to God. He had a heart towards God and was a man of faith, war, sin and so forth. He was man that life style would not allow him to build the temple because of war and he about lost his kingdom because of sin. Yet he never bowed his knee to another God. He only served one God.
This Psalms above is like a wise passage of Proverbs and yet it shows the wisdom of man highlighted, with the salvation being declared beyond the fact the Psalmist choose to know the parables of God and the wisdom of God despite what the world declares. The world says my body sees decay in the grave and says the only way to live is through one’s children. The only wealth of good deeds and work is to gain abundance of wealth. Using goodness to gain friends and prosperity and not out of one’s goodness of heart.
The Psalms also states that brother can not pay for his brother’s sin. Before salvation came to a friend of mine, I want to take the sin them. Yet there was nothing I could do to save that friend. Nothing I could do to help my friend, beyond sharing the Gospel of Jesus. For years my friend rejected God and one day she got saved. It anger me for years because there was nothing I could do. Those that have love ones that want them at the cross keep praying God does hear. Yet salvation is a choice, and none of us can pay the price that Christ did on the cross to save mankind. God had to give his word that man would rise again. That man would rise from the grave to have eternal life. Those that receive not eternal hope are like the beast who see death. Eternal hope comes through faith in Christ Jesus the word of God. Enoch was translated, the first sign of God’s word of eternal hope in scripture. God’s protective hand unless it one’s time to face death would be Cain. Cain had God’s protection, but not eternal hope because of disobedience. Faith without works is dead.
Where is your hope. Where is your victory. It is through the knowing the proverbs and parables of God and Christ Jesus. Knowing the Spirit of God protection by obedience to Him. It is by faith and believe That God sent His Son to redeem the world from sin. It is faith in the prophesy spoken by the Spirit of God coming to reality of evidence. Yet the reality of evidence by human standard must not be duplicable by wizards and sorcery. It must be in way that the believer will understand that it is truly the power of God. God speaks to non believer in a way they will understand. Yet the choice to reject or receive is still up to the individual. God choose the world to receive His love through His Son.
Dear Heavenly Father it easy to see the world through the world’s eyes of what they can only perceive by evidence understood. Enlighten the world to spiritual truths only seem by the witness of the Spirit and your Word that you exist, that you are and you did send redemption through Son until His return. Teach us Lord to walk by your Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
