Wisdom Is A Response

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Genesis 41:14-16 KJV
(14) Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
(15) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
(16) And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

One of the wise things any person of God can do is point to the one with the answer. I might have a thousand answers, but in truth I will probably forget them the next day. However If I point you to the one that can answer all of your questions, I guarantee sooner o later God will answer you. True wisdom is of God and no man has a hold on wisdom. In fact man is seldom wise in all they do, though many people are wise beyond their years. It is easy to give good advice because of experience in life or the foreknowledge of the full circumstances where wisdom is needed. Anyone can decipher gossip what is true and give a king or leader knowledge based on what is coming up in the world around them, what they can not do is prophesy or give what will definitely occur. Over twenty years ago I heard a prophecy on TV by a known minister. And what I thought at the time of prophecy was that it was based solely on educated guess. Then what occurred happened. Then I began to wonder about the prophesy a little more and decided to leave it alone, until I began to hear some unusual things and decision making this minister was agreeing on. I began to think again is this spokesmen for the Lord, a servant of God and then I began to realize, Jonah rnn, Moses disobeyed God on more then one occasion and so forth. Then I began to realize my on humanity and I said who am I to give wise advice or even prophesize. The answer is every believer has the ability to have a relationship with God and every believer has the ability to be used by God for His glory. And every believer has the right to know God’s business because God shares it with his friends. Yet there is only one who has all the answer and wisdom to give accountable answer to events to come. If God’s people who are called by His name are walking by the Spirit of God then they are able to request of God of knowledge, wisdom, understanding and awareness in all matters including the interpretation of dreams.

The Pharaoh the king of Egypt a dignitary a man of power sent for a prisoner for the interpretation of a dream only because the dream bother him so much that he need knowledge of the interpretation of the dream. I do not doubt this king of power asking a prisoner for advice was not normal. Yet the chief butler had told Pharaoh about him and explain the accuracy of the interpretation of a dream for both him and the chief baker. Why did not Pharaoh seek the Lord. Perhaps he knew not the God of Joseph. Yet he was fixing to be introduced to the God who spoke to him and continued to bother him concerning his dream. Joseph spoke to Pharaoh and told him that God would give him an answer to His dream but he would not. He sought not to glorify himself but to glorify God.

The trap of glorifying oneself is probably more understood as the norm in society. It is the game of who is best. Hubby and I play cards and it becomes a war of who is the better player. Who holds the best cards and who can strategize the best move and play to win the game. It not about godly wisdom, but about war of a simple card game of saying I will beat you and the prophesy usually is either false or true based on who the better card player is. Prophecy of God is not a card game of who is better, but of who has the knowledge of what is to come. I can only guess at a card game, for my husband I are equally matched. Yet God has the ability to give interpretation of what is to come because He has all wisdom and knowledge.

What kind of wisdom are you giving to those that come seeking you for godly advice that are not necessarily saved. What kind of advice are you passing out. No one I know does it perfectly, but godly advice will point to God and Christ ahs being the key holder. A good example is do you point to your church or to God has the healer, Savior, or solution. Though the church might have the key, how we point to it is another thing. Just like many believers have the key but not necessarily the answer due to lack of faith, or slack in their own prayer life or that gift was not given to them for some reason or another. Yet to point to God and Christ is to say He is solution and holds the solution to your problem. It is the wises thing to do is point people to God and Christ, nothing wrong with bringing them to church, but first lets make sure they know who the answer giver is or use the church to introduce God if you are not sure how, or that is how God leads you. Point to God for God is everywhere and you need not to be in a church to bow and pray, but the church is a place to pray, where others will be praying with you if they are of God.

As far as dreams go I would hate to say for if God gives you understanding and you speak not it better be by God’s Spirit you speak not, for all is to testify. All is to speak the things of God of what the Spirit of God speaks. Make sure what you prophesy is of God and not man’s selfish desires. Joseph would interpret the dream Pharaoh had by the power and Spirit of God, not by any ability he had. The Pharaoh listen and heed the warning of God that came from Joseph. The King heed to the point that He made Joseph a ruler in the land to plan how to store the wheat for a great famine that would last seven years. Point to God because you are just a mere human being, and are not God. That the best wisely answer you can give to is to seek God’s answer.

Dear Heavenly Father it not me that can win the game in the battle of you verses the devil, it only you. I can not win the battle, but I can be on the winning side and I choose you Lord to enable me to always look to you and follow you Spirit by your power and might, keep me humble before you point to you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
