God Allows The Devil To Do Housework

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 1:1-22 KJV
1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Why does God allowed the Satan to test us. We know the first temptation of man cause God's garden to be cleansed of mankind, because of the temptation of eating the forbidden fruit was so great that when Adam and Eve ate the fruit their eyes were open to both the knowledge of good and evil. They sin made them naked before God has they made clothing out of fig leaves to cover their nakedness, before they knew not they were naked. The testing of Job was nothing new to the talents or work of Satan, however when God allowing Satan to test people Satan maybe doing a cleaning of God's house or property. Job was a child of God, possession of God, in the since of belonging to God. However Job also had property and family that did not fear God the way Job feared God. In fact Job feared God so much that when his sons and daughters had a party, he would make sacrificing in the morning in case one cursed God. Satan takes more then just Job's family from him but livestock and even his brother inlaws house. Job mourned but he did not sin, he rented his garment and shaved his head and fell to the ground and he worshipped God, and did not charge God foolishly.

How easy to blame God for things, but this would not be God's fault beyond the permission he granted the devil. We all have things that come into our life good and bad, and when destruction of both good things and bad things come we might wonder what is God doing and why? Sometimes we even get angry because we feel it is the judgment of God. However God is only using Satan to test you. To prove your worthiness as his child. God will restore all things to Job and even us when the time of testing over. For the Christian it maybe in eternity that restoration is complete, but for Job it would be when the time of testing was over.

Why does God allow Satan to do house cleaning, to get rid of the things and people out of a person life that does not glorify God and does not fear God. Now the cattle and possession destroy were not necessarily items that did not glorify God, but they were things of wealth and possession, things of value. Did the wealth effect whether or not he served and worship God. Did the removal of his family from him that feared not God enough to watch their own actions, stop Job from worshipping and fearing God to only curse God. We can do all the praying for forgiveness for someone else by religious law, but until a person choose to get right himself our efforts only might extend that person's life until they do or perish.

God cleansed the family members that fear not him enough to keep from sinning. Now Job is left with a nagging wife and three friends who all would rather see Job curse God and die more or less. End of the book of Job God shows Job how self righteous he believe he is and it causes Job to repent, for he realize his self righteousness can not save him, and so he prays for his friends.

The truth of matter what does Job learn how much God truly loves him to bring even him to his knees in repentance. Job is restore and he remarries and has more kids. That what is to have God allowed Satan to test us, to see if we stand worthy in the presents of God. Even if we do, we still may find an area of our life we truly fail, but it is only a time of repentance and restoration to God for that sin.

Even Jesus as tempted in the wilderness, but he was the Son Of God by birth and not just because he was a man, but he was born by the word of God and the will of God(Holy Spirit). Jesus was tempted like we are, to prove his worthiness to take up the cross God had ordained for him to take. See he proved he was Lord to Satan, for he would not bow one knee to him for the wealth or promises he offered him as he was tempted. All the things Jesus was tempted with were already his by being who he was. Who are you as a child of God, and what promises do you have that is yours or will be yours in the life ahead of you?

As I think on the last question as a child of God, as a believer in Christ we are promised inheritance that fadeth not away. Promised to be princess in heaven, and priestess, and males a prince and to be part of the priesthood of God. What more entitlement as heirs to the throne do we need. What more hope and promises of position, rank or title as God's child do we need in eternity. This life is short compared to eternity with God. Do we need to be concerned about our rags we wear, beyond the need to wear presentable dress wear in society. Do we need to worry about the food we eat beyond whether it comes from trash barrel or the store. Nothing to be concerned about in this life, beyond taking care of our needs so our health stays well from normal things. We do have responsibility to do what we can to care for our own needs and the needs of others. Yet it must start with our spiritual need of faith. The need to know our eternity is promised already by God upon belief in his Son Jesus. Job had no fear beyond fearing God and sin that could separate him from God. He had to now his righteousness came from God and was provided by God for him because of his faith in him. Job was beginning God for intercessor so he could know what he done, only to discover his righteousness was not based on things he did but was already his by faith. The intercessor being solely the word of God that had not been born of flesh yet as the Son of God named Jesus.

When Christ came he would establish by faith in him the importance of believing the word of God and his ways being superior to man's ways, at a price. The price of obedience to the price of disobedience to the will and purpose of God in our life. God's salvation being more then the flesh of Christ but the very word of God for eternity. Belief that he came in the flesh important but not the only aspect of faith in God. Cornelius not saved by Christ yet, but a man of faith in God, and his alms and prayers had come up as a memorial to God, and God was going to tell him who His Son was. All his faith was before the Lord and God reach down and said this is my word my promise to man to send my only Son to die on the cross for your sins. Now realize how he does it by having Cornelius to seen for a man name Peter in Joppa, who was being prepared to come tell him about Jesus. Cornelius knew not God had sent his Son, but he knew that God was sending him to get a prophet to speak to him.

Our faith moves mountains, but it also keeps us from truly falling away from God. God desires those that will worship him freely. If God establishes our faith, builds our faith, and creates in us a clean spirit, he also going to tell us about his Son in due season. Do not fear those who never heard about Jesus, you may be the one to share Jesus with them, or be the person. See the devil might be doing house cleaning for God, but he also send his people in to do restoration for his people. He also direct communicates with us by his Spirit when we need correction. He does not need the devil to correct us. Devil would rather bring you to sin and failure before God then to build you up. The devil house cleaning purpose is to make a mess for sure but it does remove the filth from our life, either making us sick to sin by getting what we want and realizing it not what we want or need. Meaning the deception of lies saying we need this or that and we need none of it. We do not need the forbidden fruit to now what evil is, devil deception alone is good enough to know we need none of that. That fairy dust he sprinkle is only sample of the dust he want to leave on my and yours salvation. Let God clean our house for his way is best.

Dear Heavenly Father, when the enemy is trying to clean our house remind us that his temptation is only to take us from our faith and God the Father. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Peter 1:4-9 KJV
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
