The Baptism of God's Breath
4/28/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 2:7 KJV
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

John 20:22 KJV
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

John 3:3-9 KJV
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

To be born of the Spirit of God is not such a mystery, but a question of who is doing the baptizing, no it is the fact that to be reborn one must be human. The first breath of God's Spirit came to man through Adam and Eve, The breath of God created a living soul. Yet God has the power to take the life of man, to take his very breath. Yet in order for man to have eternal life he must be born again by the Spirit. This is a second breath of God, a breath given for eternal life. Jesus breath on the disciples(grown men) and said receive the Holy Ghost. Receive the breath of eternal life. I using the word eternal to help with understanding the Holy Spirit gives eternal life through belief in Christ, for he seals us unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13). This seal is the seal and mark that says we are saved that can not be seen by the human eye but by God that says we are his children. To be born again is not a mystery on this side of the cross only to the side where Nicodemus is questioning Jesus concerning spiritual matters, and yet he did not understand and he was a Pharisee.

If one talks of spiritual matters to unbeliever, they perhaps only grasp the meaning of words that there is some kind of change when one believes, but for the believer that has experienced spiritual birth, knows there is not only change but their is hope and reassurance of faith by the Holy Spirit. Paul came not in fear to the Corinthians church but in the power of God speaking of not only the death and resurrection of Jesus, but speaking of the renewing of the mind spiritually. To understand that Corinthian church was not against the laws of the land as much choosing a spiritual path in option to the idolatry of that region. To be born of God the idolatry had to be put away, so there had to be a spiritual rebirth of the mind, a teaching not only by the Holy Spirit but within the church of things which were of God.

If the body of believers began today to clean the house of God not with only soap and water but the spiritual truth and worship there would be a transformation of things taught in our world today. For if we teach of things of this world everyone understands it, but things taught by the Spirit are things that touch our very soul as believers and communicate God's ways to us. The way of love, hope, forgiveness, long suffering, gentleness, meekness and so forth. The things of God does seem foolish to a non believer or people of the world that know not the ways of God's people. If outsider comes to your church and you think he going to sing the hymns he probably will not. Yet it does not make him ignorant of God's word or ways only songs of your hymn chorus book or video screen. What am I saying if someone not of the church world comes and hears the words of God they are spoken in a foreign language to him unless he heard them before, he needs understanding. To a believer they are just a new song not heard, or different language then what they were taught. What should be consistent is the Spirit of God in the mist of his people.

Not every church deals with the same issues in society, but all churches deal with the Spirit of God if of faith in Christ. The Spirit of God should be the same. If it is not something is wrong. God's word and breath maybe within the church because of the power of the word of God. God's word does not come back void, nor will his Spirit. His Spirit demonstrated in a believer is a advertisement of the power of God. I can remember ministers coming with ethusaism for revival and they seem so full of life of God's Spirit. In reality they were pumped up for a time of revival for a church. To spur them on to continue in the work of evangelism through out the year, not to give up on evangelism. Not to give up on people who seem not to hear, but to continue to be long suffering of faith. The birth of life within the church would spring anew for a time, and winter would come only for life to spring a new with the spring revival. No there is no spring revivals for the church world this year in the since of week long service and large gatherings, unless we find more ways to break down the laws that are binding the church with the use of social distancing and gathering by computers, by vehicles and so forth.

Find your niche of evanglism by God's Spirit and do not cease to exercise whether it is only demonstration of love to individuals in need both spiritual and even physically,(food, clothing, and hand extended in faith). Let us hold to the truth of God's word and pray for that revival to be globally and not just in our own ark/home. May God's breath be felt outside our homes as believers go outside their home, for basic needs and eventually to work.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to know your Spirit by the renewing of our minds on simple spiritual truths of your word and how it applies to the spiritual church. Let the Spiritual church arise even when the physical church is not so present. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 2:1-16 KJV
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
