God's Breath

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 7:15-24 KJV
15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

God's breath began all life on earth as well as the life of man when he breath into his nostrils in Genesis 2. In Genesis 7 we read about the destruction outside Noah's ark. We understand that all breath was taken from the earth except for the life breath of all living within the ark including man, woman and beast within the ark. Within that ark we find life living with in the ark. Outside the ark all perished. No breath of life anywhere for water covered the earth and consumed the breath of life upon the earth.

Right now our earth is oxygen deprived with all the pollutants in our world. I do not know if any air changes as occurred with factories closed and other things shut down. I am not sure how the world has been effected of carbon dioxide that produces strong plant life which gives off oxygen for man to breath, but I know one thing there should of been some changes. What is the point I trying to bring out, the most important things in our environment to man has God's living breath with in it and God's filtering system must be cared for to continue to produce strong oxygen flow in our earth, unless God creates away like he did in the days of Noah inside that ark. Have you ever thought about every tree, plant life and living thing was destroyed. God rebuilt so Noah could leave the ark of safety once more. Anyone sealed in a refrige only as a few hours to escape, anyone inside a box must have air, but God's breath of life was within the ark of safety. Noah, his family and all living animals lived. I have no clue what they ate but God was with them.

God's breath was in that ark, the very breath God made and gave to all living. God appointed a time for those outside the ark to die as well as those within the ark to die upon the new earth. A day is coming God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth, and God's breath for his people will be there and we will not perish but have eternal life upon this new earth and the light of Christ will dwell with man. Light and breath of God will be with us and no more darkness will exist in our world. Until that time we wait for the coming of Christ who will come for his people and take them from the earth for Christ to judge all that remain, the wrath of God will be poured out.

We live in a time when a virus has effect our world and many wonder within their tiny bubbles who is left. We know if our friends and family are still living but what about the person that road that city bus, or walk the city streets and passed by with no name. We fail to realize how many face we look for daily in the trip to work, school or even the store that we become familiar with who have regular routines. If you shop big stores it becomes less faces, but smaller stores you almost can know everyone by name or at least face that works there. I love my small stores and my small community for that one thing. Yet as things change we get unfamiliar with faces and names over and over again. People retire and we run into them shopping. Their reality and existence more precious then we even imagined. Yet we then realize the importance of each other. Noah went out of the ark knowing all was gone. We go out and know someone is still there somewhere in our world hopefully. If not we will see new faces and new life immerging from places unknown.

Dear Heavnely Father, thank you for your breath that gives life but also has the appointed day of being taken from each and everyone of us. Lord thank you for precious life of friends and family. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Acts 17:22-34 KJV
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
33 So Paul departed from among them.
34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
