Yes Believers We Are Not Without Hope
4/18/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

1 Corinthians 15:1-11 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 KJV
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We must remember we are not without hope. We are with the hope of Christ return to redeem the church/believers in Christ. To use the term church we must understand this is the universal church of Jesus Christ without walls. Some churches are trying the bubble church to help their congregation stay together. If you think on each family is a unit to themselves, but still part of the church and body of Christ and yet we are all in a bubble/surrounded by His Spirit as we spread the Gospel of Jesus to the world. Whether in family unit or individually we are surrounded by God's Holy Spirit as well as him living in our hearts upon receiving Him. This bubble as I seem to coin it hear on this site, only reminds me of God's seal and protection on the individual and then on the family. Protection how?

Well the protection does not mean we do not face death, destruction, harm or even evil. What it means is he never leaves us. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Jesus was the last to be separated by the Spirit of God, until his resurrection. His body laid in the grave as a spiritual war took place and enemy was defeated by God's grace, for the God's Spirit enter Jesus and up from the grave he arose to victory. We know that this victory occurred because of the cloud of witness left behind to tell the story of the resurrection they did witness seeing Christ alive after his death. How many over 500 people have seen our resurrected Lord. Lets start with the 500 witnesses and then some more.

The spiritual resurrection begins with belief on this side and ends with hope being fulfill of eternal life with Jesus. Our works alone can not save us. Adam was flesh and yet he had a spiritual body that seen the grave. He tasted death because of his sin. Jesus tasted death though he be a perfect man. He tasted death to over come death, so that we to might know we too will be overcomes if we have faith. This was the same promise seen by the disciples at the transfiguration before the death and resurrection of Jesus. Remember Enoch chapter 5 of Genesis was translated into heaven. All believers had this hope. Elisha was taken up to heaven. Enoch and Elisha never tasted death.

Why then do others face death and not be instantly translated to heaven? Why did Elisha get to ride a chariot of fire to heaven. Yet Christ had to taste death for all of us because of sin. He had to die because of our action that nail and a just man to the cross. That nailed the word of God to the cross, that he was king of Jews, and He came to declare to the world he was king and God to the universe. They thought they could kill the king, but could not, for he rose to victory. We can not kill God with our hate, with insults, with our confusion, with our anger or with sadness. God is not defeated by gossip, by our sin, or by our ugliness toward him and mankind. Yet he took and had his Son nailed on the cross for it. Then God not only raised his word up, but His Son up so we could see his ability of life of love, hope and joy could never be destroyed.

Then God gave everyone that same hope of eternal life through his resurrection. That same hope of everlasting life with Him to those that believed, by taking those that came out of the graves with him to heaven before returning to teach his disciples for forty days. Telling them to go and make disciples of the world. Not only disciples but give all of his people the knowledge of hope through salvation. And what it means to have eternal life.

Our bodies here are corruptible and destructible but the spirit can not be destroyed with faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus changes or transforms our Spirit into his likeness. When we die we go to be with Lord. When we die we rise up spiritually to be with Jesus, When Christ appears all that are left on the earth that have believe will rise up and join him in the sky. Just because a love one died today that knows Jesus means one day he will return with Jesus, but our focus to rise up to meet him in the sky needs to be on Jesus, or we will never see that love one that is saved again with out faith in Jesus.

Our victory and our hope will be when the last trumpet sounds and the saints all rise to meet Jesus. Then the hope of the world is gone and the devil is judge one last time with his angels. The picture made clearer knowing our choice is who do we believe. God and Jesus/word and Spirit or do we think today that this is some kind of fable? It is your choice. Yet Christ is real and the hope is real. Keep your faith in Jesus who is complete image of the godhead body.

Dear Heavenly Father, give us that hope of eternity through your Son, because he had victory over sin and death. Give us that hope of his return in our hearts to hold to until the day of final redemption on this earth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 15:44-58 KJV
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
