The Ark Of The Covenant
4/17/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Hebrews 9:1-15 KJV
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

What is an ark, but a box or boat. The first ark was boat designed to protect the family of Noah. The end of the first covenant of God coming to an end because of evil in the world. Yet a promise of newest and no more destruction that would cover the whole world by water. We live in a time when disease is ramped across the world, not just corona. Yet if you study a map not all areas are infected by certain virus, whether, climate, cleanliness, holiness, or God, only God knows for sure why. The second covenant built like ark spoke of better things yet to come. If we look at the first ark, the only hope was to get on board with God form of righteousness. The second Ark came with the need of the first covenant of faith, but it also carried the word or testimony of faith along with the laws. The covenant of the ark was that God would be the God of the people as long as they played by his rules/obeyed his commandments and believed.

Why compare to covenants because both of these covenants had an end date to a degree. The ark covenants were also eternal covernant, not just an understandable covernant for one time period. The end date for the first covenant came with the first resurrection, the resurrection of the dead, and Christ resurrection. Christ being the first of the new covenant with man begin with hsi death and resurrection. Something to note about the time of Noah and the time Of Israel in regards to other forms of government. A people willing to give up their faith to follow their own desire and will. Noah and his family the first survivors of the first wrath of God on the earth. The second survivors were people left to figure all this information out of the first and second covenant. Both covenant represent a time period of change. Both covenant started with a new beginning.

As we go through changes in our own world we begin to see a new beginning of sorts along with continual fear of something we can not control in our world. I am sitting in the dark. No I am sitting understanding two things, God's desire for man to believe in him, and to trust and obey him. Jesus a testimony of how we ought to live and Jesus being about belief in Him. If we stop right there since the world began the righteousness of faith never changed nor did trusting and obeying God ever change. However the emphasis on faith continues to expand the human faith in God.

It is hard to deal with destruction of God. I also declared on more then one occasion just because someone dies during destruction does not make them unholy or holy. Believers die of natural causes as well as dangerous disease, hardship, storms and even war. If we fail to understand that Noah time was not yet and his survival was depended on his obedience to God, the answer is his righteous came by faith first and obedience second.

Where is your faith, when it comes to the covenant of God. God's new covenant is faith in Christ Jesus. Belief in death and resurrection and his power to forgive our sins despite our disobedience. Faith being more powerful then obedience of faith. Yet without works our faith is dead. It has no power with out the power of the Holy Spirit to move in the lives of God's people to care about others as Christ taught his disciples to care, pray and also help deliver others from a life of sin, through teaching of faith.

How much time some people want to know before Christ returns. We can not be in a place of thinking his return is not soon, nor blind to the fact that if we live not according to his design of faith and works, that we will not be exempt from God's wrath or the ability for God to leave us behind to face the next round of storms. Let us not hold to what we can see but what we know about God as being loving, protective and full of vengeous on evil. Let us love and pass on the hope of Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father strengthen the people of faith to teach love, hope and faith in Christ, according to your word and testimony of faith you recorded for your people to have and hold too, and also to learn by your Spirit by the action of faith in ourselves and others. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Peter 3:1-18 KJV
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
