Jesus Brought Life and Immortality To Light Through The Gospels
4/12/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 28:1-5 KJV
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

This is Resurrection Sunday, Glory Hallelujah our Savior lives. Every Resurrection/Easter Sunday we celebrate the rising of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yet do we fully realize the impact it had on the disciples on the day he arose and appeared to them. He spent three years tell his disciples he would die but also rise. Yet it was the third day and how could a dead man rise after dying two days ago on a cross, His side was pierced after his death. They were told that it would happen and it did. God's word came to life in their heart, it was not just a teaching about life as a believer, but an event of reality of Christ coming forth from the grave, for the stone was rolled away by angel and he sat on the stone and talked to the woman.

We can get very complacent when it comes to the miracle of the resurrected Lord, especially if we heard it since childhood. Yet can we grasp our Savior rose from the grave and impact at the time of original story come forth and spreading to the world. He rose as a victor over the dark domain of death and hell. He rose conquering death, and releasing the captives of faith from first their tombs, and then taking them home to glory. The disciples view and others around them that were witness were now totally shaken at these events, ye the story of Gospel would have to be told for others to know the reality of Christ words and God's word to mankind was true.(study the Gospels end of the cross John 20-22, Mark 16, Matthew 28 and Luke 24).

We all need the evidence of God's word in our life to manifest itself in a physical way, but it must be done by God and not man. Man can take God's word and make people believe anything when they use it to munipulate people into believing and try to make God's word into a lie. It is almost like a prophecy of a building falling but the evidence was clearly seen by those that deal with structure of buildings. A prophecy with knowledge is not necessarily from God in one sense, but God did give man knowledge to know things. Yes we can go around and around on this being prophetic or not. Yet without a time code or a time table of when an event would happen it no longer prophecy from God in regards to foreknowledge of event such as this.

It is interesting Christ never says when they will crucify him but he does declare the temple would be destroyed and raise back on the third day. If we look at Christ being the temple of the Holy Spirit in physical form, his body being the shell of the Holy Spirit, then we see a temple dying and raising back up with the crucifixion and the resurrection. Yet the reality of the event is shell shocking at the time it was occuring. There are things no one believes without proof. The empty tomb was proof that something had happened to Jesus body but it not enough evidence for the believers, and so Christ in his wisdom appears to 500 people during his last days on earth, The eleven disciples and more would carry the gospel of Jesus to the world, because they could not keep this story quiet and upon belief neither can you or I.

The light of the Gospel must shine forth as a new day sun, at the knowledge of the truth of the risen Lord. Each of us becoming ambassadors of the cross of Jesus, suffering not in shame but in joy knowing that through our own persecution others will be saved. Do not think when you suffer for Christ that you will not go through many emotions of anger, residement, and hurt, but working through these emotions is part of discovering the joy of knowing you shared in Christ suffering on the cross because of the world's sin.

Christ is the only one that can redeem us to God the Father, but we are able to forgive others as we learn to deal with sharing the gospel of Jesus. We have to realize where persecution comes from it comes from the enemy of darkness. It comes because it is allowed by God for a time, to teach us how to deal with the attacks of the enemy only to strength our faith and hope. For God wants to strengthen our faith and our hope in him.(I Peter 5).

Christ testimony shines forth as he evacutes that tomb and leaves angels to testify of his resurrection with the glory of God shining around that angel as when they appeared to the shepherds in the field. The woman and soldiers felt the earth shake that early morning and seen the stone rolled away. Two days before the stones that covered the tombs of the dead were rented/divided, this stone is only rolled away as if opening a door. Christ became our open door to God, he removed the door of the saints and rented the veil in the temple, so no division remained. The earth was cracked all the way to the temple.

We can not shut the door to God, but must understand the door in which man can be saved is through Christ Jesus. When Christ knocks on our hearts and we open our door to him, we are allowing Christ to come in to the heart. We tear down the wall between us and God by allowing Christ in. He already opened the door through the resurrection called eternal life, we have to open the door on this side of eternity to have eternal life. If we shut the door of our hearts we are as dead men that remained in the tombs.

Let Christ Light arise in our hearts at the good news that He is risen, let us believe the story that he lives. Tell the world there is hope, and by doing so we are telling the world of the peacemarker name Jesus who broke down the veil/wall between us and God and removed the chains of the world and set us free.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for our risen Lord, for the hope he brings to all of us that believe. That hope of eternity with you and Christ. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Timothy 1:7-12 KJV
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
