Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 26:36-45 KJV
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

God's will is probably the hardest thing for mankind to understand or to deal with as a human being. One might wonder if God's will is worth it. The struggle of man verse God's will, verse our reality, verses His over all plan is sometimes hard to deal with. Someone on the street living out of a trash can might wonder is this God's will. That church down the street that giving love, food and hope is asking do you want it God's way or do you want to still eat out of the garabage. When man turns to God, the freshness of his love begins to abound in their life, though they may not be ready for it all. A kind word, a helping hand, and a open door is often all someone needs to help get them motivated to do things for themselves. It that constant negativity that helps no one. That silent prayer in the night in the storm of life that we wonder if God really cares. It is the cry of Lord is it your will, I should have to endure hard things, that makes us look foolish when we look to the cross of Jesus. God required Jesus to suffer, but he showed us the humanity of Christ in the garden of saying "if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done", as recorded in Matthew. In John 17 it shows Christ weeping for the disciples as well as will as seeking God to remove the cup from him. Yet at the same time, he also says let your will be done, talking to His Heavenly Father in heaven. It interesting to note in Luke 11 the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray he told them to pray "Thy will be done".

To pray God's will be done, is meaning you willing to submit to the will of God. The will of God according to his word, to submit to his decision. Pain and suffering for a time at the will of God. The will of God to obey our leaders, to be outside the congregation of the church, is it the will of God or not. I could run in circles on this because the Bible also teaches not to forsake the assembly of ourselves. Yet there was story of a minister dying from the Corona virus whether true or not I do not know. What I know is our government will put a fear in people to bring about compliance to their will. Does God have to put a fear in us of Him in order for us to go about doing his will for our life, or are we in humble submission from that decision of obedience onward. The answer is has humble as Christ was, when it came to the garden of Gethsemane, we see the humanity of desire for rebellion, at the same time the willing submission of obeying God.(John 17) He was pleading to be exempt from going to the cross for you and me, but in Luke 23 he said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do", while hanging on the cross. The meaning being such that he was full compliance to the will and the word of prophecy of God as he hung in pain for yours and my sins, as well as those prehours and days before his death. If we can come to terms of the fact Jesus willing went throught the pain for our sin, we can go through the pain of sacrifice for others too. The persecuted saint went to the cross, to the rock throw, to hanging, to the torcher chamber, and more because Christ was willing to go to the cross for them too.

Yet what is God's will for the church to endure arrest and persecution? We must ask ourselves are we in fear of God more then a disease, or are we choosing not fear but obedience to government restriction on how we can and do worship. Is six feet distance a real issue, is complying to use a barrier between us and other wrong. The cellophane wrap would work to be a huge barrier draped to the floor, with a mask for the face, and hands still could touch with barrier in between, or some type of rubber suit/diver suit would work as well with a face guard. Praying with guidelines of covering and protection of the state without having to fear of what man might do, only fear of the virus that plaguing the world. Yes interesting body armor to comply with government guidelines of being covered or in a bubble barrier of some sort. Lets add googles. Now I really look like a alien in that gear, ready to fly in my saucer out of here.

If this type of suite would be acceptable it can even be worn over regular sunday suit or dress. Let church petition for this protective gear to meet in larger groups. It would solve the whole problem. Be uncomfortable especially those in hot areas. But if they going to force us to an extreme let us come up with an extreme solution to solve social involvement once more for church and work. Let God's will be done to protect the people and protect the world from dangerous diseases that kill the innocent people.

Dear Heavenly Father, may you bless the desire for those that want to be in your house with the protection of a simple rubber suit for work as well. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 11:1-4 KJV
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
