Time Of Christ: Condemnation

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 3:15-21 KJV
(15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
(20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Is God the same God today as yesterday? Fact remains if God is a God of love he is the same God has from the beginning of time. However God is a God that changes not. Yet I find myself in a dilemma. Some would say I spoke out of turn concerning the adulteress woman yesterday about why Jesus may not of cast the first stone. One of Jesus purpose in coming to the world was not to condemn. Yet this was authority of God for Christ not to condemn but to bring people back to him so they could believe. Jesus was to be a doorway to God, but the difference between us being a doorway and him is He is in the very image of his Father as the only Begotten Son of God.

Let us go back to where I said I may have been out of line concerning why Jesus did not cast the first stone at the adulteress woman in John 8. Though Roman and Jewish law existed together, Roman law trumped all laws. Our country founded on Christian principals, and yet not all states were founded on Christian principals. The movie Paint your wagon though probably totally fictional western, shows how greed and money destroyed a town and how Christians came in to clean up the town. Yet it showed all the wickedness of man, it showed how the world destroys itself with even false religions, yet people still desire righteous living and where righteous abides sin can not remain but it gets cast out.

People get religion and bars close. People needing a Savior see the need for change because their life is in trouble and those that see not find themselves deeper in the life of sin. If sin becomes to great people will find themselves cast out of an area, or a region or so forth. The people in the movie paint your wagon when the town began to cave in because of men tunneling under the city for gold from the saloons found themselves running away from the city in search of gold and more sin. Though the story was fictional it has a point, the fear of destruction causes men to flee to either to sin more or to remain and fix the problems.

Jesus did not come to cast people out but to redeem them unto himself. He did not come to judge but one day He will. Jesus did pass judgment while here on earth, but not in the way of the wrath of God as far as destruction. His judgment came in the form of arguments. Explaining the right and wrong of even the law. Teaching the law of both Roman and Jewish, in hopes to bridge a gap between to cultures. One also needs to bridge what is the gap between manís law, Moses law and the spiritual law of God.

I do not remember the education system of my day teaching about law beyond schoolhouse rules. They taught history, but not about the laws themselves but how they changed and developed. How our laws impacted our world today. Beyond the rudimentary teaching of legal system design, very little was discussed in a classroom. I keep wondering maybe with moving did I miss that discussion. As a nation when we fail to teach our children about legal laws and how it applies to daily living, we fail to understand our freedom of life. Our freedom is based on the law of our land and social customs. Yet we have freedom to change laws and to change social customs. Yet the one set of laws we cannot change is Godís spiritual laws of redemption. Yet even the devil believes and trembles. Yet he obeys not manís laws or Godís laws beyond those inflicted upon him beyond his free will. Our free will beyond belief is testimony of whose child we are.

There a point if we only teach John 3:16 of how God so loved the world that whosever believeth in him will not perish, we fail as believer. The world in general believes at in least the deity of God. Atheism is far less in our world then one can imagine, yet there are nations built on atheism. I did not read the whole article but an American man was being imprisoned for plotting against Korean environment. His crime was being punished by hard labor. Sin like that causes destruction will bring you in to a world of torment. When I heard of someone of my own nation doing destruction of chemical kind it angers me. Especially when it sabotages relationships with nations. Especially places like Korea. We have service men still suffering from the war of Vietnam with Agent Orange and other chemicals and there even some other classification of chemical weapon diseases not known to the publicized world. The weapons of destruction only bring hardship to people and it is not of God either. Our own nation worried of weapon of bio chemical warfare can only be seen as something that should never been started. Yet without knowledge of evil one can find ways to destroy it. Man tries to destroy evil, but God is the only one that can change evil completely to good. As tornadoes run across our land and destroy things in its path, my heart aches, and yet I wonder is God trying to tell us something once again. I hate to be in a place where God wants to destroy the evil unless it by Godís word that brings repentance. A righteous person by faith alone in a town of destruction by the power of God, needs to know his day may not be yet, but the repairs of rebuilding is long and hard.

This new technology of snapping a picture to okay a purchase, can be dangerous, or can solve identity theft even in times of destruction unless facial features are destroyed. Godís love in dangerous times and in times of big brother being to dominant in our life, one has to ask to throw away technology that can be used for good or bad, or is technology that can destroy humanity evil to keep around. It the same issues of nuclear power and energy, it can be used for good or evil. The world knows it. Jesus came to change our life for the better not to destroy it. He did not come to bring condemnation but to express love of God to the world He was born into. The laws of man were made to be use as social guide but not to control a person spiritual life. Worshiping God freely should be a freedom not a curse. Salvation is a free gift upon belief, yet works show whose child you are.

Dear Heavenly Father may you move in our life in a way that allows the world to know you not about destroying people but about destroying evil around them. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
