God's Word Became Sinful For Us

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 KJV (17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (18) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. (21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Godís word became sin for us. That law of obedience to God did not pass away, no of course not. Godís laws being sin to obey was never what God ever meant. For God to forgive us our sin we had to allow Christ to bury them with his death. The word of God had to bury our sin in order to take our sin away. Unless belief enters the picture oneís sin remains even at the time of fire and brimstone that in hell and eternity. Payment comes with our crime being punished by God, or Godís deliverance through faith in His Son Jesus the word of God. The word is then being sacrificed for you and me. God breaking his law to deliver us, or was it a law that was since the beginning of time. The denial of Godís word could cost you oneís life on earth as well as in heaven. Noah, Jonah, Peter and Paul. Paul had to learn the hard way with other disciples that cost of breaking the law of man. Breaking the law of man got one stoned and beaten. And though it was law of God Paul obeyed, the law of God also delivered and protected Paul for he made all the way to leaders of Rome to discuss Christianity. Rome had begun to persecute Christians because of uprising of a group. Paul once was a persecutor, got opportunity to explain about who Christians were and about faith in Christ. . No greater honor could be given to a Jewish priest by Levitical birth, Roman citizen by birth as well as spiritual birth a Christian. Peter would die in Roman for his faith in Christ and for speaking out not against the government because he proclaimed who Jesus was.

Noah had faith and believed God and it saved him and his family from drowning. Jonah almost nearly drowned by his disobedience but upon repentance found grace from God only to complain about Godís mercy. Godís word will either make you hate it, or love God. If one only sees the results of a mistake that seems trivial in our modern world one cannot see Godís judgment as being correct. Many false theology online speaks of Godís laws as being lame or out dated. God allowed his law to die, for the law of love to be reestablished. The separation is between religious law and manís law.

Religion today proclaims religious law in the form of legalism and fundamentalist. Fundamentalist that look at the law of God and say we need to obey it to the letter, yet they only obey the law of legalism and not the law of sacrifice. No they seek Israel to perform the religious sacrifice not understand the sacrifice of Christ was once and for all. His rising from the dead gives eternal life to all believers. Some have felt the need to reestablish the Jewish law of the Old Testament, not understanding the freedom from the Old Mosaic law that allows one to walk in the law of faith under that legal of antichrist.

The Mosaic Law only a reflection of spiritual laws of faith and faith not separated from the law of legal system. In Jesus day the law of Jews was a sin under law of Rome. Faith has to be established by belief,. Abraham knew no temple or religious law until the law of circumcision was given as covenant. Jesus died by the will of religious institution, yet the law of faith remained. Roman never took away faith only legalism of Jewish faith. Today Islam is struggling with this issue in our world. Their law being part of their country is force upon those in opposition.

Christ showed how one would be persecuted by religious gurus of his day as well as government. Yet faith had to be crucial to understand freedom of religious dictatorship verses law of faith. Believing God to send his Son was faith, to receive Christ upon believing is faith. When does grace apply and Godís law begin then. It begins with love and faith. Faith represents the trust a person has in God. To be a new creature in Christ is to believe Jesus had the power to forgive sin and deliver one from the gates of hell. As a believer one begins reconciling people to God through faith in Christ Jesus by teaching, under whatever rule one finds themselves under. One knows if under what ever rule, those things will pass away the law of obedience to God alone in his kingdom will come. His kingdom is not of this world yet it is to come when redemption comes with the New Jerusalem. Today is a foreshadowing of what is to come with religious rule and legal rule alone. God establish kingly rule. The law of freedom of choice is established in our land. Choose Godís way or the devil.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to obey you, despite what human law we are under. I thank you, that you gave us the freedom to obey you and man through Christ death and resurrection. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
