Israel Pardon
04/13/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Joel 3:1-21 KJV
(1) For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
(2) I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
(3) And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
(4) Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
(5) Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
(6) The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
(7) Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
(8) And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
(9) Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
(10) Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
(11) Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
(12) Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
(13) Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
(14) Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
(15) The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
(16) The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
(17) So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
(18) And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
(19) Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
(20) But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
(21) For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.

I would love to think the time of Israel pardon is here and now. If a continual war in Middle East, it seems that peace may be sooner then we thought possible and yet it never will be til the time of the return of Christ. It is the treatment of God’s people that will be revenged before Christ’s second coming. The send world war was the holocaust of the Jews. The third world war that seems to continue without title into our day is the war against the gentiles outside of Jerusalem.

Everyone forgiven for the crucifixion of our Savior seems hard to grasp, for our sins and the sins of the world nailed him to the tree on Calvary. Yet with forgiveness came a price of life of sacrifice for faith, for freedom through forgiveness of Christ on the cross. I want to begin again to think of that freedom in the cross when Christ said to forgive them for they know not what they do. We war against each other taking claim that the only God is our protector and the others do the same. We come in the middle ground and say and realize we might be serving the same God only to say if we are then the things of God should line up. Yet God cannot be contained in a box. The horrors of revenge plague the religious world to the point heathens say why believe. The idea of the lion lying down with the lamb seems far fetch especially if their cubs and lambs play over the hole of asp/snake. The valley of decision and the word of God flowing freely seem like a far-fetched idea. Until we realize for a time when Jerusalem had restored God’s word flowed freely. Some might think that freedom is about always being right, but it about being wrong too. Taking responsibility to being wrong. No one does that well.

Time of God and Christ is about taking away the teachings of the devil and replacing it with God’s word and the love of God instead of the rule of hate. It strange to us as mortal man for God to allow evil to rise to ordain it to rise to teach us about love, and our own mistakes through showing us the depravity that we care coming to if we do not change. Some people go to Israel hoping that while they are there Christ will appear and they will be already at the valley of decision not needing to travel there. Man restores only to not realize his power to restore is God given and not given by man. Man restores if nothing more to prove the reality of God and the heathens ignore it. Our claim is Jesus will return as he left. Then if Jesus returns how he left, then our wait is only about his appearing and claiming his people and judging the rest. Yet if the judgment comes what about those with faith in God, or acknowledgment of a God doing things known to be good and right in the eyes of God, yet without faith in the Messiah. The purpose only down to pat themselves on the back or is it done to glorify God.

One can not ignore God’s word is prophesy, but at the same time Christ return being prophetic and the Word must be believed as well. It the ignoring of God’s word of what will happen. Is revenge on the Greeks and Romans to say I forgive you, or is it more blood shed for the account of sin against a people not their own. The constant battle of who right and who wrong, short lived with forgiveness of sin. If we desire mercy we must show mercy. If we desire revenge we must teach revenge and hate. Teaching love and forgiveness seems like a better way. It was Christ way even on the cross of Calvary. Father forgive them, and your rule reign in our land along side the law of man that commands us to love others even when faith seems unable to abide in some.

We wait for Christ return and the latter rain that began at the time of Pentecost that even flowed through the Gentiles for peace and hope of a better world. If achieved it is for our pleasure, but it does not solve issue of the final act of Christ return in human form coming to claim his people, proof of his reality, and proof of God’s judgment/God’s revenge. For man forgives everyone for crucifying but does God forgive us, his Son did. Who nailed Christ to the cross is looked at we all did. Constant need for revenge when hurt is short lived with the love of God.

Pardoning of crime committed against society is never a good thing. Yet perhaps the pardoning for a crime is necessary to understand God’s forgiveness. Yet if our land pardons every crime that happens then our laws will not work. No one see the consequences for sin and so arises and runs rapid in our streets as looters, gun slingers and so forth try to fight for our freedom a second time. Time of Christ we wait for is all coming the judgment seat of Christ, all coming to appearance, first his own and then those that never believed. God’s judgment is truly divine.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the ability to forgive and to judge for protection of society sake until your Son’s return. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
