Time Of Christ: The Inherited Foundation

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Matthew 25:31-46 KJV
(31) When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
(32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
(33) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
(34) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
(35) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: (36) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
(37) Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
(38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
(39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
(40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
(41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
(42) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: (43) I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
(44) Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
(45) Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
(46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

The division from sheep and goats, begins with faith and unbelief, and ends with works. Sheep are people of faith and goats are those of unbelief. Sheep is a symbol of being a believer. If one only takes this portion of scripture and applies to every man and women with faith and without faith one might assume that works here are more important then faith. Yet it clear that there is two animals here, one of faith and one not of faith. Sheep blessed from the beginning because they believed Godís word. The idea that all people are equal is true, until it comes to faith and unbelief. The separation line of which child we are becomes clear. The lamb is the sacrificial lamb for persecution. The Son of Man speaking of Christ the sacrificial lamb from the beginning. God never laid his word down; only man laid Godís word down. God word spoke of the sacrifice of Jesus and him rising from grave. For three days the word seemed buried only to rise again. His word establish in a new generation with Jesus rising from the dead.

Did God sacrifice his word, He did when He allow Christ to die for us, but he also laid the foundation of old and the foundation in which Christ would suffer for us. The rich man and the lawyer both came seeking information concerning salvation. These two men had faith but they lacked in their works. Works are those things done for Godís word to illuminate it for the non-believer. Who was thirst, or naked, did you take care of them? Did you care about the needs of others? Godís sheep are people who have compassion for those in need. This is law from the beginning, the foundation of the world.

Did you walk by the hungry, or the naked and say fix the problem yourself. One has to be wise about the poor, does the person need help if they are begging or is it a want and desire. Wants and desires can be put on hold, the need of food and clothing being much more. Helping with the needs of others and not the desires only of others. Nothing wrong with helping with a dream, but it not the dream that is important but the starving.

Those who are saying look at me, I done all God ask by feeding the poor and clothing them as well, that will say God will not reject me if he is real. That is the key to hell. For without belief the works are dead, you cannot be a goat and be saved with unbelief. You must be a sheep to inherit the kingdom of the blessings of promise since the foundation of the world. The goats might believe Godís word in regard to action, they see the benefits of helping others. They play God to the weak. Yet they obey God only out of civic duty. Yet in the portion of scripture the sheep are the ones inheriting and Jesus begins to speak and say you gave when the poor asked, you cared for those in need, what then will the sheep say who did Godís word with no hope.

To be a sheep is to follow after the ways of God yet even the heathen believe not but follow Jesus as far as his word. This parable is not spoken to the gentiles but to the believers. This portion came to the disciples and is part of ďthe sermon on the mountď. This is one of the longest messages coming from Christ to the believer. Perhaps for the importance of explaining why belief is only part of the picture. Works are important to people of faith. Faith without works is dead. Faith with out action has no value. The sacrificial life of a believer will pattern after Christ. To sacrifice oneís life in the since of laying oneís life down to help another. To stop what one is doing and care for the needs of others over yourself, is the sacrificial life To be a sheep is not to put on airs of giving as a project but giving out of love and compassion for others and not to be seen as look at what I can do attitude.

The foundation of sheep and goats begin with Abel and Cain. Abel sacrificing the appropriate gift to God and Cain giving only what he thought God should have. Abel giving the requirement to please God. God separating the blood crying out because of Cain not understanding of giving to God what He required verses what he thought God should have.

The gifts given to a person in need, is about their needs and not their desires of wantonness. Abel gave the gift that pleased God a sacrificial lamb. Because he gave a sacrificial lamb, he became the sacrifice that would get Cain cast out, because it was not the sacrifice God required for life and fellowship with Him. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb. Someone showed me a picture the other day of man dying for a group of people. Whether real or fake I knew not. Yet what came to mind was they had crucified him only thinking someone had to die for their sin. Jesus was the Son of God, created by Him, It not that every human life is not created by the will of God, it has to do with the one that was to be born by virgin conception. All humans but Jesus have sinned against God sometime in their life. All I could think did people really think that a human sacrifice not ordained by God would be okay with God? No, never. Six million Jews slaughter in the holocaust for what reason? Babies killed in abortion clinics for what reason?

Giving gifts to the poor for what reason. Was it the rich man giving to Godís treasury out of convince while the poor widow gave her last coins because she was willing to give all to God that she had? Of course the temple gave to the poor and needy. It was co-op type of thing. All pitching in to one location to help the poor can be beneficial. When one accepts Jesus as Savior the giving goes for the co-op and not the individual sacrifice any more. The answer is we all have duty as believers to help others if we can. It cannot be left to the church offering alone. There people needed to help disperse it. Thee people that are needed after the church doors are locked in the evening and sometimes through the week.

The foundation of giving has always been giving to God what He asks, and what He did not ask. God knows what we need to survive in this world. He knew of our own daily needs. One can not out give God or give to God what he does not require. It like taking to a potluck dinner that requirement of sharing only the meal they would fix for themselves. Giving more could be the burden to the poor, but if everyone did it then there would be at least one meal per person. No leftovers or take out. Have I gone mad this morning? Perhaps I have. But the foundation of Godís word begins with his requirement that even He will not break. God requires us to give the appropriate gifts to him. Goats never give the appropriate gift to God. Only the gift of how do I look.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to give as sheep the appropriate gifts you require, In Jesus precious name, Amen.
