Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris
If I want to know how little my brain and understanding of all of who God is all I have to do is go to the book of Job for the answer. It a good reminder of who we are in Christ Jesus, as Godís dear children, who only have a glimpse of understanding of all the things God knows. Science will claim to know many things about the earth and our planet. Research declares certain key principals that can be applied to all nature, yet it cannot define the beginning or the ending point of Godís creation. It can only observe the processes in which things grow and develop.
Man was around when God created the heavens and the earth. Yet if we live in a time of repetitive motion one can only imagine that motion is still in existence. If we are blinded by our own knowledge of the things God put in motion. From the length of time it took God to create the earth being six days. Man wants to know how this could be and in truth, our minds can only comprehend that there are children that age quickly and die young before they reach the age of twenty. There bodies wax old without medicine to slow the aging process. Though science can control the aging process in the mutation of life in these children, they still cannot control their own aging process. As earth formed in the first day, one can only grasp that water was divided the day before. Yet this process of how it was formed is in slow motion today. What caused it to move and develop so fast only God knows? Why did God slow it down, only God knows? One can only assume with creation of light and dark that 24 hours in day was not hour more or less. It became the measurement for a day from the beginning of God saying there was light.
The next time you think you know it all, consider reading Job. I do not doubt some understand more then I, but God has the superior mind. He can rattle off facts one after the other and our computer minds mind only work half the time. God created us to be intelligent beings, but our mind can only contain so much.
Dear Heavenly Father always put us in our place that your knowledge is greater then ours. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
