Not Slack Concerning His Promise 10/18/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris2 Peter 3:1-18 KJV
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Who prepared for end times and for what is to come? Most of us maybe more unready then we think. Prophesy of fervent heat is not talked about much but it mention in reference of Noah. It is not love if we never mention it.
If never mention it and we watch global warming occur then we fail to point out prophetic events that can and will take place in our world today.
Should we dwelling on events to come. In the eighties the fear of nuclear war existed and nuclear holocaust plague media. Yeah but by nighties fear had been put under submission, even fire upon the earth being a real threat.
This month is Halloween and fire prevention month. Global warming real threat but do we speak or hide the impeding threat under aluminum jackets so more signs can and well be revealed in last days.
When I talk about fears of threats, I looking childlike fears, as adult we know of fears we seem to pass by evening buy into threats. We wait for hasting of these fears prehaps in old age. Fire being the real threat from God. Once the threat of fire comes we will no longer be waiting for Christ to come.
The real threat upon us.Yet no one is prepared with sunscreen, i pods and rocket ships in which to made to stay in. What do we have during a fire aluminum shelters that cover the body so it can be found after a severe fire that mark man's body where one in a an fire storm, for love one and government. Love ones know that any kind of fire protection would probably fail, yet Jesus took his people through the fire.
Heaven and earth and wrath of God comes. Scripture talks of man still being alive with feeble knees and hands still hanging down. We came through the fire with the world we know is gone and are standing in the New Jerusalem. We are transported from death to life that believe.
Dear Heavenly Father remind us our hope rest in your Son Jesus coming to take your people home, In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 12:18-29 KJV 18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
