Gifts 10/09/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLuke 11:11-13 KJV
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?No good father will give a son a bad gift. Our Heavenly Father gives us two gifts his Son and his Spirit if we ask. His son came to be the Savior of the world to all that will receive Christ as Savior but the second gift is the Holy Spirit who teaches all thing, but also brings gifts from above(Ephesian 4). Those gifts are for edifying(to build up), the church. Gifts from God are gifts that build our treasures in heaven, but are to use them to build faith up and to prepare us for heaven. Christ being rock of faith is also the word of God that came in the flesh as Jesus. Before Christ, God's word came to Noah and many prophets for salvation on earth not just heaven. The perfect word of God preparing us for eternal salvation by receiving Christ as truth and God's eternal plan of salvation. Making salvation a perfect gift of God taught by his Spirit to you and I before salvation, enabling us to receive salvation and the gift of His Spirit in our hearts.
Sin is evil and not a gift of God beyond free will. God gave the remedy for sin first through obedience to his word and then receiving Christ as Savior, who is the greatest gift to man and a true gift of his love.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for gift of love coming by your Spirit by the message of salvation through Christ Jesus, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Romans 6:23 KJV
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
