On this Memorial Day in America we celebrate and remember the lives that fought for freedom. This day is also is known for rain. I can barely remember in fifty-five years of not having rain. Not sure if the angels of heaven are crying or God wants to bless the soldier with a rainbow, speaking of time of no more wars and the need for no more heros.
Today's verse is last one in the Psalms 23 with the hope of dwelling in the house of the Lord forever and ever. I do not know how many young men and woman who served our country knew the Lord. I do not know how many served that did not find their way home. I do know King David was a righteous by faith alone and looked for Messiah to come. Yet he understood whether absent or present in the physical body he was going to dwell in the house of the Lord for ever and he would praise the Lord for ever and ever.
We rest in knowing the saved men and woman known or unknown are praising God if they had faith in Jesus whether alive or dead. What we do not know is how many believe.
To thinking about the praising of God all day long and all night long, tells me the freedom to worship God is a God given right. For all that believe and worship him will not end but continue forever and ever no matter what side of eternity you are on. Those on God side will be praising all day long. We praise God first in our hearts and let the words go free that come from our heart and mouth.
God did not stop being any man's God that would believe on him. All knew his Son know the hour of prayer in the battle field begins in pray that does not end. For they hoped they would return to see their love once more. And God would give them strength to obey their country commands. God is not just in a church building. He in the battle field too. His throne room in heaven and the earth is his footstool.
Many soldiers that are believers can testify of God's grace. They can testify of knowing whether in victory or as a prisoner of war, God was there. Whether someone lost a limb or another body part God was there. What they could not escape the hell on earth they could still see the beauty of the throne room of God. What they could not escape is the nightmares that war caused or the hope that God brought while down in a fox hole at night. God was still there for Christ dwells in the soldiers heart as he does anyone that believes.
Dear Heavenly Father put the gift of praise in our heart to praise you all the day long. We left up each soldier far from home that they will find themselves praising you in difficult times. Knowing you are the Great shepherd that guides and teaches us to worship you, In Jesus precious name Amen.
