A Cry In The Wilderness 5/13/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisIsaiah 40:1-31 KJV
1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
20 He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. 25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
God is a God that faint not. As I was thinking of loss of life of several people I hardly knew and some with specially memories and others no memories. Yet each person special in different ways to me and to others. I think to how a person growth throughout there lifetime of faith. Whether people are strong in faith we all walk from time to time on the wilderness road of spiritual war where God meets all request but no one is satisfied though there appears water when there seems to be no oasis. I think on this and know God's word still inspires to reach out and say listen the voices in the wilderness and ask what are they crying. God says salvation for his people no more turmoil but it seems to be without end because of lack of faith.
The lack of faith is not the first crier or the people of faith. It is to those who have been provided for in the desert trying to find the waterhole of faith. There those who have been spiritual battle in Egypt that walked toward the promise land and wanted to enter in, but those of no faith would not allow them the shorter route.
Isaiah seen the time tribulation over for his people but seventy years had come and gone and Israel got tbeir inviction notice from the world of exile, some had more faith then others tagging along because of ethicity not knowing faith in God was still among some of the people. Now these people were going to be taught by the crier the word of God and people of God stand in the wilderness teaching those that knew not the power and might of their God.
Those weak in faith were going to mount up with eagle wings and be strong because they were going to see the mighty work of God. People shouting and running in the desert to the promise land. And people coming to knowledge that God was a God that did not grow weary but had demonstrated his compassion of bringing them home in love and not in fear as He done when he brought his people out of Egypt.
God's correction over their was then a great revival in that wilderness that leads home. Christ had not been born yet but the word that came not in the flesh as the spn of God but in speech brought salvation to all that believe. Yet the were under authority of government that would end and more government powers would control Israel. Yet God was still sovereign among his people. He strength to his people.
Find yourself in spiritual exile and the cell bars no longer around you. God has given you a place to seek him til your words ran out and you had to hear the word of God once more. God spoke and said your free and now eat for revival is here. I am gping to fulfill prophesy in your day.
Dear Heavenly Father end the war to bring revival. Take your people in Christ from the wilderness to time of entry into the promises land. In Jesus name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Romans 10:12-21 KJV
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
