Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 5:12-16 KJV
12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

Jesus touch a man not only was he consider unclean, but his illness was a painful deadly disease that people walked with sometimes for years. These people being segregated from healthy people. Today society still castout the sick, and dying without even talking about it. The only one's rushing to help the sick are nurses, physicians and rescue workers. It is not families don't care they must tend to those moving forward in life making sure they remain as healthy as possible. The common cold or sinus infection sound the same but one is a contagion and the other most likely passing with season or dust in the air. A sinus infection is not a contagion but if untreated can lead to death. There is point if standing inline at checkout and cashier is sneezing wiping there nose do you move to another line or does one wait not knowing if the person is sick. Cov 19 doctors did not even want patients in their offices unless it was a general normal infection. Was the reason justifiable; the ideal is to take care of the ones you could. The reality of diseases that are contagions affect everyone of us over a total span of six years. It was the plague of this century perhaps. When Jesus touches this leper it was if someone touching a person with cov of our day and time; though death was not as quick as with cov. That how terminal disease is treated. Cancer is almost treated the same way and it not a contagion. It is however a disease that can lead to death though many cancers are treatable today. Jesus touch this leper and did not shun him but talked to him. People do not even like to talk to the sick. Here Jesus stops and touches this man.

The man had come close to Jesus bowing to him and said if your are willing, make me whole. This man understood Jesus had the power to heal. He didnt demand healing. He was a man apparently of faith and understood the principal of God's will be done. Are we people setting demands on God or are we people of faith that accept what ever God will is enough. That his grace is sufficient. God's will for healing in our life may come with being surrounded by friends and family.

It interesting if your the outcast because of disease God able to surround you with those that care, provide total healing in many different ways and sometimes still be sick in body. Why because it not the disease that always makes one unloveable it the attitude. Our attitude of God's will is I accept all you do for me. Bring healing spiritually, mentally and physical and restoring what the devil thought was his to take. We pray God's will into our life we dont know what will come but God going to shape and heal us into his creation of purity and holiness even if he wait to do final healing in heaven. Yet when Jesus walked the earth for those with faith as small as mustard seed was made whole. Sin of uncleanliness of Spirit made whole. The testimony of physical healing proved he could take care spiritual healing.

This man was to tell no one of his healing but the priest. Even if he obeyed how many others told the story that was watching. Fame did not have to come from the one healed but by those who knew Jesus had done the miracle.

When I see my own spouse struggle after my healing and others that were still sick I dare ask God why only me was physically healed. Some ministers said because you ask not and other's said not God's will at this time. God wants to do something contary to the physical heal but wants to heal the spiritual soul.

Jesus told the man show thyself to the priest and perform the religious laws according to Moses for both thankgiving and sacrifice for sin. Man still under religious law only until the cross. Does religious law of Moses apply today only in the spiritual aspects like circumcision of the heart only somwthing God can do to show others your his. The outward circumcision coming by our good works done wirh our heart though sometimes rejected by another.

A heard a story where wheel chair were line up outside an arena waiting to hear the next faith healer. They were rolled unchanged but no one spoke to see if any spiritual problems were resolved. We get in the mindset of miracles are impossible for some situations that one fails, God is doing something internal within the soul. Miracles may not be when we want them but by the will and word of God. It takes prayer and fasting to see some miracles happen. Others are waiting by faith when they see their Savior for full restoration. God wants to breath hope in your life according to the full measure of faith being given in your life. Man had faith he need restoration only healing could provide.

Dear Heavenly Father move the mountain of sin of a lack of faith. May our life be transformed and healed by your will being performed in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 17:19-21 KJV
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Luke 17:5-6 KJV
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Hebrews 2:4 KJV

1 Peter 4:19 KJV
