Fellowship Of Truth 7/16/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris1 John 1:1-10 KJV
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.Can you have fellowship outside of faith. If fellowship is built only on a common ground. Listen to people talk about racing or football and your interest is about at the 5% range only because you heard and seen a football game, or race then your fellowship meter going to be low. Now if interest in racing and football at 50% mark you least know a little about the sport beyond the touchdown goaled or the waving of a white flag and you might carry on a halfway conversation but if you and your buddy's interest is near 100% you can tell about a race and football game 50 years ago and were not a witness of the orignal game.
2000 years have past but Christ in a true believer is as almost as good as if Christ walked in the flesh in this generation. John had been a witness of Jesus and the freshness of his testimony was still alive when he wrote this letter. He realize there people at the 1% and 50% who heard stories of faith of Jesus but never grab hold of faith in God the Father or Son. Yet his hope they reach and grab hold near the 100% mark of knowing Jesus, so they could have fellowship with one another. Older people can love talking about the old days but it not the same speaking about it to the younger folks unless they know the old sayings and language or languages of the time period. we loose generation passing of our time period.
John the writer was getting older but the reality of God's love was not passing away. His love was for all future generation. God was light and him was no darkness/evil. He sent his Son and his blood was given for our sin. He you say got is evil the truth of God is not in you.
This fellowship that comes from God comes with us learning about his ways and Jesus' ways and believing in his truth and the light. There many things people believe about God and it straight from the father of lies named Satan. See Satan believes in God and trembles. The best way to know God is to rest on his word concerning who he is. The government will lie about many things and yet there is some truth that comes from it. As long as your able to work and do work, you will get a pay check from a good and honest company. The rest of the red tape matters not until they take one check for taxes. Yet the truth of the government statement came with a lie.There is enough lies about the government that weighs the government down, that truth can not be seen.
Satan tells lies every day about God to deceive the people. If you say you dont sin your are a child of the untruth. God desires his people to have fellowship in the truth and light of his word. Fellosip with Christ and God.
You can not enjoy fellowship by speaking lies. Real friendship is with truth. God wants us to hear his truth. Just like every President wants to be heard of what he actually said.
God's word is truth and in him is no darkness but his Spirited hovered over the earth. Darkness all around but darkness was not in him. Fellowship of faith comes as we mature and grow up in faith with the knowledge and testimony of truth.
Dear Heavenly Father teach us the sweet fellowship of your truth and light. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
