Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisColossians 1:7-12 KJV
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:There is nothing like letter from a friend speaking about their church and how the church is growing whether in numbers or just in spiritual faith. It the letters with not hearing of spiritual desires of a church makes one wander what going on. Paul heard great things concerning the Colossian church from their minister. He tells them he praying for them to be "filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness". With a prayer like that for spiritual well being and growth does a church need anything more.
We want to see the body of Christ with wisdom and spiritual understanding we better begin to pray for it. If we want the church to be known for there works we better pray for it. If we want to see real change in a church for God's glory we need to pray for it. Why because often there no spiritual growth because no one is praying for it. Want see change in fellow believers lets pray for them.
Dear Heavenly Father, give your children wisdom and spiritual understanding. Encourage them in goid works and strengthen them in unity of faith and your grace. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Colossians 3:15-17 KJV
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
