The need for fellowship. There is need for the consolation in Christ by the Spirit. There is a need for love and companionship of other believers in general. A need for unity of the Spirit.
Everytime I gone through a hardship besides my husband presents in general I have had to deal with it alone at times. Yet there been times I have had to call on sisters and brothers of faith and even family member or two for assistance. It nice when it is volunteered without asking. When I speak of being alone it many hours of just yourself and God though others maybe participating in your life.
It those hours alone one may feel withdrawn from the world. Generally these things happen after retirement and old age has feeling of being withdrawn from the world. It can happen when younger and to those who are disabled. It those periods of isolation the realization of the value of friendship and the value of fellowship. Yet it also time to work on that relationship with God. That time alone can heighten your need to communicate with God. That one of the first fellowship that needs to work on and it also allows that time to search through scripture and prayer about knowing the comfort of God's love and mercy for individually. It really good when able to take time from a busy schedule and know God. Some call it quiet time or devotions.
When that time alone is gone and friendship and fellowship is all around it time to conscentrate on those around us and those bond we have with them. For some it all about faith and unity of faith with others and also about similiarities of things one might enjoy. Faith can be a divider that keep friendship from being united spiritually and in a brotherhood or sisterhood.
Paul was asking those in Philliapians to have unity with one another in friendship and faith. Paul talks about the need of one another. I agree we need that unity of faith. We all do not have to all be exactly the same are uniqueness makes us special to a group of friends. Faith that binds are hearts is thicker then other things held in common.
We are to build each other up. To compliment each other concerning good qualities and talents. One more thing watchout for each other and help one another.
When alone work on one's own relationship with God and with others work on friendship. The need of commune with God and friends is real. There never a lonely day with Jesus by yourside.
Dear Heavenly Father move in our's hearts and life to build tbat relation with others and also work on our relationship with you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
