Whose Design For Whose Pleasure 7/02/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris1 Corinthians 12:13-18 KJV
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
Never had this problem but comedy teenagers on tv seem to all the time. The flaws in face or body that seems to bug an individual. It not lack of self confidence because of unusual feature, it the knowing one does not look the same as another. Sometimes it as to do with weakness and strengths that outwardly shows. Sometimes the flaw is just ugly. The truth we want to remove or change it. Yet to remove it, can change a person. The need of that one feature left unchanged makes the person unique. I have mole on my face though I could have it removed it would change my profile picture or image that has been part of me 55 years. I always thought cancer be the only reason I would remove it. Other people would rather see me remove it. When it was suggested to me to remove it 15 years ago, it was by a loveone and not my husband. In truth it never occured to me and thought was foreign to me.
How often we want to change the body of Christ, speaking of the spiritual church. The church gets a new music director and immediately the music director wants to change the pianist. Now the pianist been playing 50 years and was never really what one would say excellent player but for a small church she did her job tbe best she could. It was an easy replacement, but in the process the church lost an old member and it was never the same again despite how excellent the new pianist played.
We might look at that spiritual church and ask who ordained a person for his or her position. If we say the church, we fail to see God has called and ordain leader of the church. God puts each of his people in the place she or he should be in. If we allow God's intercession we we will get a church group with people with flaws but in the right place lead and directed by God. If we choose from the outside ability we never see the interweavong work of God choosing his choice. Saul was man's choice for a king and David was God choice after King Saul was chosen by the people. One leader who had a heart for God and the other self seeking his own fame.
If God establishes the people's role in the church he will have done so has it pleases him for his glory and honor. The minister who trains God's people for service will look for those that are God's choice.
Dear Heavenly Father may your leaders on the spiritual church be people that you delight and take pleasure in, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 1:3-12 KJV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
