Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Dealing with rejuvenation and revitalizing. We can get lost in the three personification of the Godhead we understand the need of separation of examination or disecting each part of God's role in the believers life. Our focus of breaking down for example yesterday lesson had to do with Holy Spirit's intercession when we ourselves are into much anguish or sickness in our need of prayer and He intercedes in our behalf. That part might gotten lost in the message, but it was not absent. Holy Spirit intercedes before the Father concerning health, spiritual crisis and even life joys and desires. Jesus intercedes in our behalf to the Father just like the Holy Spirit but he covers us before the Father with his own blood because of our sin as a believer and without that covering we have no covering for sin. Christ intercession is based on God's Word. When we pray to the Father, Holy Spirit interceding and God's word is the go between of the needs between God the Father, the Holy Spirit and man with God''s protection through Jesus. Holy Spirit is with us as we go to the throne of God, but our protection is Jesus the Lamb of God and his Word.
What does this have to do with this passage? All three parts of the Trinity are scatter through these verse concerning the sanctification. God after salvation has not left you empty without help. God given first his commandments to love and to obey. He has not left the believer without the ability to do these things or a comforter to help the believer in their time of need. God is continually purging believer heart of sin. We all know how we should behave and their is an acception to that rule because of rebellious ways. We might struggle with rebellion but does not change that we ought to know better. That is why the Holy Spirit groans spiritually on our behalf because we are called to be holy and not rebellious sinful children.
Dear Heavenly Father continue because it your will to sanctify the believer. In Jesus precious name, Amen Continual Scripture Study: 1 Peter 1:14-16 KJV
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
